Vince McMahon Plans For WCW In 2021 Revealed

Vince McMahon and WWE appear ready to cash in on the 20th anniversary of the final WCW Monday Nitro, with plans for new merchandise to celebrate World Championship Wrestling. This could be to stop another attempt like a surprising name trying to bring back the WWF.

A new WCW trademark by McMahon and WWE states, “IC 028. US 022 023 038 050. G & S: Toys, namely, action figures, accessories therefor; dolls; cases for action figures; toy wrestling rings; toy vehicles; board games; hand-held units for playing electronic game other than those adopted for use with an electronic display screen or monitor; tabletop action skill games; playing cards; puzzles; stuffed toys; plush toys; toy belts; knee and elbow pads for athletic use; toy foam hands; costume masks; costume masks; novelty face masks; Christmas tree decorations.”

WCW Monday Nitro aired its final show 20 years ago today on March 26, 2001, with the show ending with a simulcast featuring Vince McMahon in Cleveland, Ohio.

Steven Gilbreath tweeted, “20 years ago today, the final episode of WCW Nitro aired in Panama City Beach, FL. For some wrestlers this was the final time they would step into the ring, and others went on to other promotions. It was a sad night. This was the last time wrestling was on TNT….until now.”

Allie-RX said, “20 years ago on this day in 2001, it was the end of an era in professional wrestling history!

The legendary ratings war between the WWF’s RAW and WCW’s Nitro, the Monday Night Wars, officially ended with the final episode of WCW Nitro!

The WWF bought WCW from AOL Time Warner.”
