Vince McMahon ‘Rejects’ WCW Champion Return

Vince McMahon is WWE’s Chairman, and Triple H is currently the COO of WWE and he is also a veteran in the world of professional wrestling, having competed in several great matches and countless memorable moments during his time as an active in-ring competitor in the company. Vince McMahon also tore up the script before an MVP promo on Monday Night RAW.

Pro wrestling legend Sting shocked the entire pro wrestling world after he made his debut in AEW last year during AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming. Since then Sting has been regularly featured every week on AEW Dynamite.

When Sting made his debut in WWE, several fans were excited as they thought he would finally face off against The Undertaker, which was a dream match for many. However, that did not end up happening.  It seems he had an interesting pitch for a WrestleMania match but Vince McMahon promptly rejected it.

Sting recently spoke to Sports Illustrated, where he revealed that Vince McMahon simply didn’t see an in-ring future for Sting.

WWE, specifically Vince McMahon, saw no in-ring future for the former face of WCW. Enter Tony Khan, who already had a pre-existing relationship with Sting. And the visionary that created AEW also found a way to persuade Steve Borden to reapply his face paint and lace up his boots for a true farewell run.

“I’d known Tony Khan long before AEW, and he had put in a call to me and we had a great conversation,” said Sting. “He made a few pitches to me, I liked what I was hearing, and I’m glad I did.”
