Vince McMahon Removes AEW Star From Raw

John Cena recently celebrated 20th anniversary of his debut in the company. Interim CEO and Chairman of WWE Stephanie McMahon recently sent out a congratulatory message to him. WWE stars like Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, legends such as Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin, and several members of the AEW roster including Paul Wight, Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho with whom he has worked with, sent video messages to the 16-time World Champion.

It was previously reported that AEW President Tony Khan might have allowed the AEW stars to send Cena the messages. Cena had himself responded to the warm wishes he received from the stars in by sending out a Tweet.

Bruce Prichard reportedly reached out to Tony Khan

In an update to the matter, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it was WWE’s Bruce Prichard who reached out to Khan to make this happen.

“The basic story behind this is that on 6/24, Bruce Prichard called Khan and asked about having clips from those three guys as well as Mark Henry for Raw for Cena’s 20th anniversary,” Meltzer wrote. “Khan felt that it sounded like they were doing a good show and it was a nice deal, and that he and everyone has a lot of respect for Cena. He said he was fine with it but it was up to the talent if they wanted to do the videos.”

Fans had been speculating that the reigning WWE United States Champion Theory would be Cena’s opponent at SummerSlam. We will have to see what WWE has in store for Cena after he made the huge comeback to WWE.
