Vince McMahon ‘Tried To Steal’ Top AEW Star

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had surely attempted to sign AEW star Anthony Ogogo but he chose to stick with Tony Khan and co. instead of WWE. He gave importance to the vision of Khan over the huge money he was offered by Vince.

Ogogo reveals why he chose Tony Khan’s company over Vince McMahon

The Olympic Bronze Medalist stated that he was already a corporate guy once before, but wasn’t always able to act the way he wanted.

Ogogo had tried his luck in boxing but that did not work out after the loss of sight in his left eye. He said that he could not be himself in his previous fields but this time around he would express the true side of him and that was the major reason he chose AEW over WWE.

He said:

“That’s why I didn’t go to WWE. They offered me more money than AEW. I didn’t join them because I believe in Tony Khan’s vision. I believed in Cody Rhodes’ vision. I believe in AEW’s vision. I love being a part of AEW. I love how the team give a f**k about their wrestlers. If I’m going through a tough time in a minute, I’m getting texts from the management asking me if I’m okay daily. They care about the people rather than the money. The other place, they seem to care about money first and people if at all. We care about other people first because they know that a happy workplace creates good stuff.”

Ogogo had joined AEW in October 2019 and he made his Dynamite debut in April 2021. He has currently joined hands with QT Marshall and The Nightmare Factory.

He is set to take on Cody Rhodes at tonight’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
