Nick Khan was warned about competing with AEW

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Nick Khan was “warned” about the potential of AEW being a competition to WWE when he accepted the job as President. Khan reportedly received this warning from someone in the company, but that person was not revealed. He was told that everyone would tell him that competition against AEW doesn’t exist, but that isn’t really the case at all. He also mentioned that AEW has the potential to become real competition, and that is why he believes that the changes are needed.

A plethora of talents who have been released from WWE have joined forces with AEW. We will see how the competition continues going forward as AEW are striving to change the landscape of pro-wrestling now that they have bagged the deal of CM Punk, while Daniel Bryan, who has been a top star of WWE, is also likely to join AEW.
