Vince McMahon ‘Wiping Out’ WWE Division?

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is the one who takes the final call in the company regarding any decision. The company has been making several talent cuts that started with the release of stars like Mickie James and Chelsea Green back in April.

The company recently released even more NXT stars in their latest batch of releases, including the likes of Bronson Reed and Bobby Fish. In total, WWE has released 52 Superstars so far this year. It appears NXT’s cruiserweights may be in trouble.

Vince McMahon is rebranding NXT

It was previously reported that the recent mass releases from NXT are part of the brand’s rebranding. As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer radio, NXT is likely to go back to a more ‘old school’ style of becoming the developmental territory.

It was said that the edict from within the company was that they were looking for a very specific group of wrestlers, and they want to change the kind of star they’re currently bringing in. Alexa Bliss Spotted With Braun Strowman In Photo

“‘No more midgets, no one starting in their 30s. They want people who can be box office attractions and main characters.’ Of course, box office attractions is one of those self-fulfilling prophecies.”

Meltzer further stated that the latest round of releases came at the order of Vince, Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis, and that Triple H and Shawn Michaels had no control over them. We will see how WWE restructures the gold and black brand.
