WCW PPV Return In 2023 Revealed?

The former WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon had shockingly announced his retirement back in July this year. The decision certainly shocked the pro wrestling world. Stephanie McMahon became the Chairwoman and also the co-CEO with Nick Khan. Meanwhile, Triple H became the Chief Content Officer, overseeing the creative aspect of the programming. It has now come to light that Mr. McMahon had to return few items to the company following his retirement.

Xero News took to Twitter and revealed that more WCW events will be used.

Even more classic WCW PPV names to return in 2023 several being discussed for a potential PPV overhaul for main roster. More to come at a later date.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE is discussing the idea of holding another King of the Ring pay-per-view event. They will also crown a female as Queen during that event.

There is talk of bringing back the King of the Ring tournament with a show that would be both King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring. King of the Ring was dropped as a PPV by Vince McMahon due to drawing weak numbers back in 2002. Today, with no need to have PPVs draw as separate buys, things like not putting on shows that didn’t draw, or having to do the shows in prime time since most of the money comes from the U.S., but now the money is guaranteed by Peacock, changes the dynamic of having the consistent 8 p.m. Eastern time start.
