What WWE currently has planned for live television return

The COVID-19 pandemic affected the entire professional wrestling world, which includes WWE. For months now, WWE has been unable to broadcast shows live for the most part. They would tape several shows in advance at the WWE Performance Center. It seems the company will no longer do this.

According to a report by PW Insider, the current plan will see WWE return to live television on August 21st. This will be an episode of Friday Night SmackDown on Fox. The RAW after SummerSlam on the USA Network will be live as well.

It was also noted that  WWE will tape WWE NXT on Wednesday, August 12th and they will be recording the August 12th and 19th episodes of NXT. Currently, there are no plans for NXT going live as well.

Vince had earlier tried to return to live television as soon as possible, fearing that the TV contracts would penalize him for taped shows, but eventually had to go back to taping. Now it seems they are ready to return to live television properly.
