Will Smith ‘Broke Up Within Marriage’ To Jada Due To…

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have had a controversial marriage. The couple seems to have discovered the secret to keeping the spark alive.

The Made in America actor and the cohost of Red Table Talk met while she was going through the casting process to play his girlfriend in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In the end, Nia Long played the part instead of Pinkett Smith, but the two went on to develop a romantic relationship.

It has been noted that the parents of two got married in December 1997. However, as with most things, their marriage was not so perfect. During one of the Red Table Talk interviews, Pinkett Smith discussed a time when her marriage may have encountered some issues.

Will Smith and the Queen Cleopatra actress seem to have a perfect marriage. We have learned a lot about their shared life decisions through Jada Pinkett Smith’s various Red Table Talk candid interviews. They both often discuss enhancing each other and being content with themselves in order to be the best partners.

On one of Red Table Talk’s earlier candid episodes, Pinkett Smith and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris spoke with the couple’s therapist, Esther Perel about relationships and infidelity.

The Set It Off actress said she could “relate” when the subject of infidelity was brought up, as she added:

“I’m asked a lot about, ‘Is there infidelity in your relationship with Will?’ And it’s like, ‘No, but there’ve been other betrayals of the heart that have been far bigger than I could even think in regards to an infidelity.’”

Even though Pinkett Smith claimed that her husband has not cheated on her, she does not believe that infidelity always spells the end of a relationship.

“What are the alternatives to divorce? Everybody thinks as soon as you find out there’s been an affair you have to get a divorce.”

Keeping each partner’s sense of independence within the relationship and making sure that neither is totally defined by the other partner are necessary, in Jada Pinkett Smith’s opinion. She explained:

“Specifically, for me, in regards to redefining my marriage as a life partnership was the necessity of autonomy for myself and for Will. And finding the core of us that wanted to be together outside of the constraints of the traditional ideas of marriage because they weren’t working for us.”

The couple’s relationship is now, in their respective opinions, stronger than ever after overcoming several hard times. The actress needed to realize that Smith could not be the source of her only happiness:

“Personally, in my journey, what I had to realize was that I had to find all the peace, love and joy within my heart in order to bring it to the table to share. Will had to go away and find the peace, love and joy in his heart to share.”
