WWE adding title match to SummerSlam on SmackDown (spoiler)

A big update to the WWE SummerSlam 2020 pay-per-view card is expected to be announced during this week’s blue brand show on FOX on Friday night.

With WWE SummerSlam 2020 getting closer and closer, the company has nearly finalized the lineup for the show and it appears that the WWE Intercontinental Championship will indeed be defended.

The plan is for AJ Styles to face Jeff Hardy in a one-on-one match with his title on-the-line at the PPV, and it should be made official on this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

That was the planned direction last week, according to PWInsider.com, however the taping was postponed and are instead scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 13, to air on WWE Friday Night SmackDown as part of the WWE on FOX broadcast on Friday, August 14.

WWE SummerSlam 2020 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 23. The venue and location for the event is still up in the air.
