WWE allegedly focusing on a future without Roman Reigns

It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen Roman Reigns on WWE TV. The SmackDown Superstar pulled out of his WrestleMania match with Goldberg due to the COVID-19 pandemic and hasn’t returned.

WWE has not mentioned the Big Dog either, attempting to move forward without him for the time being. We’ve not yet heard about when he could be returning, but a new report from Sportskeeda‘s Tom Colohue doesn’t give us much hope that he could be back in the next few months.

In fact, it seems that the writers have been told to prepare for a “future without Roman Reigns” for the foreseeable future.

“After he chose not to return to the company and compete at WrestleMania, and of course, the weeks advancing, the WWE since then have been creating storylines without factoring him in at all. I have been told, and I quote, ‘The WWE is preparing for a future without Roman Reigns’

This does not mean he is leaving the company. This does not mean he has been released. It just means that for the foreseeable future, the creative team have been told, ‘don’t expect Roman Reigns back,’ and as such, they are writing storylines with that in mind. Doesn’t mean they can’t make a sudden change as has been done in the past, but it does mean, at least for a little while, we can expect to not see Roman Reigns on our TV screens.”

This doesn’t mean the former WWE Champion is under any pressure to return or facing any kind of backstage heat. It’s even been reported that the company doesn’t fault him for stepping away.

Roman Reigns isn’t in any rush to return, either, as he’s enjoying the time away with his family.
