This year’s SummerSlam was initially going to take place in Boston. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE was forced to change locations for the pay-per-view.
WWE officially announced that they will no longer be hosting SummerSlam in Boston this year. They will be giving refunds to those who already bought tickets. Reports suggested that the company still sold tickets for the event until last week.
The company expressed hope that they would eventually return to the TD Garden in the future, but SummerSlam is not in the cards.
#SummerSlam will no longer take place in Boston. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase. We are grateful to the city of Boston for their partnership and look forward to holding WWE events at @tdgarden in the future.
It was noted that the pay-per-view will be live on Sunday, August 23, at 7 p.m. ET on the WWE Network.
