WWE announces return of Shane McMahon on RAW

WWE has announced that Shane McMahon will be returning to WWE RAW tonight on USA Network. The company recently broke the new on Twitter, saying “Shane-O-Mac is back! @shanemcmahon RETURNS to #WWERaw TONIGHT. What will he have in store?”

There has been no official confirmation regarding what the former ‘Best In The World’ will be doing on tonight’s show.

Shane McMahon Back on WWE Programming

Shane McMahon has been absent from WWE television since his loss against Kevin Owens at the October 4th episode of SmackDown. That show was the Premiere episode of the show on FOX programming. This episode also doubled up as the 20th anniversary for the blue brand.

The stipulation of that bout was a Career vs. Career Ladder Match, with Owens successfully keeping his job and causing McMahon to finally step down from his in-ring capacities.

The ratings for WWE’s flagship show RAW have continued to trend downwards over the past couple of months, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic preventing live crowds and seemingly turning away viewers in their hundreds-of-thousands. WWE has in the past used the lure of a McMahon family member to try and kickstart a bump in viewership, so it will be interesting to see if Shane-O-Mac can move the needle tonight.
