WWE apparently preventing events from booking AEW wrestlers

WWE certainly does not want their talents to have anything to do with AEW. It seems they are taking extra steps in order to make that happen.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about WWE’s new policy. The company wants to keep its Superstars away from AEW at all costs.

Meltzer mentioned that Matt Hardy was booked in an event called the Big Event in New York where some WWE guys were also booked. However, the convention was apparently informed that they are not allowed to book anyone from AEW. He said that this is one of the “rules” now, that no event of any kind will be allowed to book anyone from AEW if they also book anyone from WWE.

Hardy was apparently removed from the event due to his affiliation with AEW and was replaced by Terry Funk. This happened despite Hardy not debuting on this week’s AEW Dynamite, perhaps as a way to not be removed from the event.
