Smackdown Live opened with Paige reviewing the footage from Greatest Royal Rumble, showing Braun Strowman launching Shane McMahon onto the announce table.
Paige let it be known that the commissioner would not appear on tonight’s episode before discussing the WWE Championship match at Backlash. The Smackdown Live General Manager told the WWE Universe that, after a match which saw both men forfeit the ideals of sportsmanship, WWE Champion AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura will take each other on at Backlash in a No Disqualification match.
With the rules thrown out the window, both Styles and Nakamura will be allowed to take each other to the limit and hit each other in the crotch, as much as they like.
Backlash takes place on Sunday, May 6th on the WWE Network.
