Keith Lee had major plans in place for the Royal Rumble 2021. On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed how he believes Keith Lee might very well miss the Royal Rumble due to COVID-19 protcol and how WWE had big plans for ‘the Limitless One’ prior to his hiatus. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti’s comments below. Keith Lee just broke his silence during his WWE Hiatus.
Mia Yim, Lee’s girlfriend, just announced that she tested positive for COVID. Keep in mind this podcast was recorded prior to Yim’s announcement.
Bhatti: The problem will be for Keith Lee getting back for this weekend. According to what I was told, they could have returned this Monday when they took their tests if they were asymptomatic. However, only one of them needs to have it in order for the other one not to attend. So if one of them has it with symptoms – the one that lives in the same household also cannot come to TV.
So it’s not a case of: “Keith Lee is sick, Mia Yim isn’t sick so she can come in”. So it’s a case of they both need to isolate together. That’s the situation.
Keith Lee’s rumored COVID exposure was detailed a couple of days ago. Bhatti continued:
Bhatti: I still don’t know at this point which one of them does have it but I do know there is COVID in that household and I know that one of them has it bad. Otherwise they would have been back Monday.
So, they are gonna be ‘touch and go’ for the Royal Rumble. Keith Lee is a bigger disappointment because they had bigger plans for him and to have a run in there – Mia Yim, not so much because there is still heat on her for her not making an effort to put her mask back on [during a segment].
