WWE aired a teaser for next week’s Smackdown, showing that it will be an old school edition with a throwback to the show’s Attitude Era start. See the video below.
Attitude Era legend Mick Foley recently opened up on the booking of women wrestlers in WWE. He supported on an idea that the released WWE star Mickie James had pitches.
During a a tell-all appearance on GAW TV, James had revealed that she had pitched an all-women’s brand in WWE.
The five-time WWE Women’s Champion had shared her idea but was eventually turned down. She revealed that it was claimed that women’s wrestling does not earn that much revenue. Former WWE Champion Returns To Raw?
She said:
“This one person says to me, ‘They’re never going to do it. Ever. Women’s wrestling doesn’t make money. WWE Evolution was the lowest-rated PPV ever in WWE. I get what you’re trying to do, but I don’t understand why you’re fighting so hard for it.'”
Mick Foley urges for all women’s brand
Amid all the criticism that she had faced, Mick Foley was the one who had backed her. He took to his Twitter account and showed his support towards the idea that she had pitched.
He wrote:
“Dear Vince, An all women’s brand NEEDS to happen in @WWE Unless you want @AEW to beat you to the punch. Sincerely, Mick @VinceMcMahon”
