WWE Bring Back World Champion For Comeback Match

Samoa Joe will be competing in a ring once again. The last time Samoa Joe was in a WWE ring was on the February 10 episode of Raw. Here Joe, Kevin Owens, and The Viking Raiders faced Seth Rollins, Buddy Murphy, and AOP in a losing effort. Joe would then be working as a color commentator for WWE Monday Night Raw until he was released from the company on April 15th, 2021. Joe would then be re-signed in June and named as the enforcer for NXT General Manager William Regal. Did Vince McMahon ‘anger’ this former NXT star in a text message?

After NXT Champion Karrion Kross choked out Samoa Joe, it set up the seeds for a potential match between Kross and Joe. It is now being reported that Kross Vs Joe will take place for Kross’ NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver 36. The event will take place on August 22nd, 2021.

In other news regarding Samoa Joe, former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano commented on Joe’s latest stint with WWE NXT during a recent interview with TV Insider. The NXT mainstay stated the following: “Samoa Joe is a legend. You can not replace the mind he has. He has done so many things in this business, even long before WWE. I was a Samoa Joe fan growing up when I was in high school. Anything he does, he is successful at it.

This fired WWE NXT employee recently leaked their paycheck. Continuing Gargano said: “To have Joe in this new role on NXT, he brings a breath of fresh air and brings this whole new dynamic. I’m super excited about what he will do in the future. Whenever he is on the screen, it’s must-see TV.”
