WWE Cancel Major Royal Rumble 2021 Match

WWE Royal Rumble 2021 is set for this Sunday with major surprise comebacks, and according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, a gimmick match between ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton was originally scheduled for the show, but has been canceled. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Meltzer’s comments.

“As far as the undercard, I think they set up Bobby Lashley vs. Matt Riddle but I’m not sure if that’s on the Rumble or not. They’ve been spending a month on Randy Orton and The Fiend, and I know that match, a gimmick match, was scheduled for the Rumble a couple of weeks ago, because I was told the whole details.

Now all they’ve done is set that match up, and now the show’s over. I have no idea if they’ll be at the Rumble, because you know they’re going to do the match. If it isn’t at the Rumble, it’s going to be at Elimination Chamber. and now it’s not.”

The real reason for Bray Wyatt wanting time off from WWE was recently detailed. The Royal Rumble will feature the men’s and women’s Rumble matches, Drew McIntyre vs. Goldberg for the WWE Title, and Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens for the Universal Title.

Bray Wyatt was last seen at TLC in December when Randy Orton burned him, with Alexa Bliss later throwing a fireball in Orton’s face as revenge. CM Punk revealed a surprising Royal Rumble photo today.
