WWE changing their idea for scripted promos

Promos are necessary in WWE in order to build a storyline and develop characters via interviews. However, fans are becoming more aware of what goes on now. So WWE has thought of a few ways to get around this.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE has adopted an apparent change in how promos and interviews are dealt with now. They are going with a new direction to base their characters more on reality than something worked.

“There was a notable change in the interview style, with interviews more based on reality than scripted soliloquies that nobody in real life would say.”

“Coming off the reality-based twitter stuff with Lynch and Rousey and others have since copied because the company believes it’s been a huge success”

Vince McMahon ushered in the New Era of WWE a few months ago and this looks to be one of the big changes. The success of Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch’s social media feud definitely helped WWE change their tactics as well.
