Randy Orton was expected to face Jinder Mahal for the United States Championship at the upcoming Backlash PPV, however, his plans got somewhat spoiled when Mahal moved to Raw.
Though the championship didn’t stay on Raw for long as Jeff Hardy won the title on the first night of Superstar Shakeup and brought it back on SmackDown Live on the second night.
However, these events led to confusions about the United States Championship match at the upcoming Backlash PPV, though now the company has cleared the air.
After this week’s episode of SmackDown Live went off air, WWE confirmed on their official website that the Viper will indeed be challenging the Charismatic Enigma for his title at the upcoming show.
