WWE creative reportedly did not know about Samoa Joe’s suspension before hand

While the reports of Samoa Joe’s suspension had come out last month itself, it appears that not everyone in WWE was made aware of it beforehand.

Dave Meltzer talked about Joe on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed that the creative team was not told about the former TNA star’s suspension. They only found out about it after WWE made the announcement on their website.

The reports of Joe being suspended first came out earlier this month but at the time it was reported that WWE sources had “vociferously denied” the news.

Samoa Joe will now be able to return to WWE programming in late march, that is if he is cleared to compete by WWE doctors after his injury during a WWE commercial shoot.

The former NXT Champion was out of action from September to later December due to a broken thumb. He then suffered a concussion during the January 27 episode of Raw and the latest injury is Joe’s second concussion in less than a month’s span.
