Artem Chigvintsev, known for his role on Dancing With The Stars and his marriage to former WWE star Nikki Bella, has been in the news recently due to his arrest on domestic battery charges. New reports suggest that Chigvintsev has claimed Nikki Bella’s actions may have escalated the situation.
The incident started early in the morning when Chigvintsev called 911 around 8:30 AM, initially reporting a “medical emergency.” However, he later called back to cancel the emergency request.
Despite the cancellation, the situation worsened, and by 10 AM, deputies from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office arrived. They found visible injuries on the alleged victim and arrested Chigvintsev on felony charges of causing harm to a spouse or cohabitant. He was booked into Napa County Jail with a $25,000 bail and has since been released. The victim is said to be cooperating with the investigation.
TMZ reports that during the 911 call, Chigvintsev mentioned that Nikki Bella had thrown shoes at him, which might have contributed to the escalation.
The dispatcher also noted that a child was present at the scene, and the couple was physically separated by the time of the call. Despite the medical request being canceled, law enforcement responded due to the seriousness of the situation.
“There is a child on scene. Medical en route,” adding, “There’s an active 415 [disturbing the peace] in the background responsible.”
This incident has attracted considerable public attention, raising concerns about the couple’s personal lives. Nikki Bella’s representative has asked for privacy as the situation unfolds.
