WWE ‘Downsizing’ Smackdown With More Firings

WWE recently cut down many several stars including the likes of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black and Lana. The company had been releasing several stars since the last year. But this is the first time that a high-profile superstar such as Braun Strowman has been released by the company.

More stars to get released from WWE

It is noted that the release has come upon  due to the big-money contracts. Andrew Zarian of Mat Men (via CSS) has stated that many more releases are likely to take place in WWE soon, as they’re downsizing the ‘bloated’ Smackdown and Raw rosters. Vince McMahon Offered Match On Smackdown?

The reason for these cuts is that WWE has realized that their roster is overcrowded with stars and needed to cut down.

Mat Men’s Andrew Zarian was told more WWE releases are coming ahead and it would be a regulart thing.

There have been rumors about WWE possibly being sold as well. The mass release is a big sign of it there could be a major change soon.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestleconomics spoke to multiple people within WWE regarding a possible sale of the company and was told that there were no such plans.

“Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston spoke with five people in the WWE investor community, and none of them think WWE’s recent budget cuts are a sign that they are preparing to sell the company.”

We will have to see when if WWE releases stars in the upcoming weeks.
