WWE Draft is set to take place soon and last week on SmackDown WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H made his return to the blue brand. He announced the return of the Draft. He stated that this year it will be bigger, and everyone will be eligible. He also said that it will “change the game.”
This implies that the tag teams could be broken up during the Draft, as they’d be on different brands. With everyone to be eligible for the Draft, the WWE’s star could also be split on the programming. Meanwhile, some NXT stars could also be called up to the main roster.
With the WWE Draft 2023 approaching soon, Xero News named some prominent NXT stars who are being discussed backstage to get a main roster debut soon. Let’s take a look at the stars who could join the main roster:
#1 Tyler Bate:
NXT star Tyler Bate has been popular for his work in NXT UK. His match with GUNTHER (formerly WALTER) for that brand’s top singles title had been widely praised. On NXT, Bate has challenged for the NXT Championship and recently tagged up with Chase U at the NXT Stand & Deliver event from WrestleMania weekend. He might be called up to the main roster soon following a recent match on Main Event. He battled former WWE Champion Dolph Ziggler but came up short. Some believe that he is ready for the main roster.
#2 Cameron Grimes:
Grimes has been away from WWE programming in recent months. He was last seen competing in the November 8th edition of NXT, where he lost a singles match to Joe Gacy. He has been featured on main roster in the past. The former NXT North American Champion took to Instagram to share a photo of his physical transformation which sparked speculation that he could soon be called up to the main roster.
#3 Bron Breakker:
Breakker has been considered one of the pillars of NXT. The former NXT Champion has been one of the biggest attractions of the brand. He lost the title match against Carmello Hayes at NXT Stand & Deliver 2023. Following that, it was speculated that he was moving to the main roster. He will face Chase U’s Duke Hudson at NXT Spring Breakin’ and a loss against Hudson could solidify his chances of making it to the main roster.
#4 Ilja Dragunov:
Dragunov has made quite a name for himself in NXT. Given the history, The Czar has been rumored to renew his rivalry with Gunther on the main roster. If not, he might also be a great boost for Imperium. Dragunov’s style could also help him fit right in with the European wrestling style of the other members of the faction.
#5 Pretty Deadly:
They are NXT’s one of the top tag teams. Following a run on NXT UK, Pretty Deadly headed to NXT in April 2022. They are two-time NXT Tag Team Champions. Many have speculated that Elton Prince and Kit Wilson could join the main roster in the near future. WWE Draft could be the right opportunity for them to be called-up.
#6 Nikkita Lyons:
Lyons has been dealing with injury and been away from programming for months. Her wrestling style has grabbed the attention of the fans and WWE management was reportedly very high on her. She possesses agility, charisma, ferocity, and look but WWE has not been able to give quite a direction to her on NXT, but that might change if she joins the main roster.
#7 Indi Hartwell:
Indi Hartwell has been in NXT for almost three years. She has been one of the mainstays of the women’s division. Her work with The Way still remains standout. Her former stablemates Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano, and Dexter Lumis are all on RAW. It seems that it would be a great way to reunite them but she recently won the NXT Women’s title which might keep her on the developmental brand for some more time.
