WWE ‘Enjoyed’ Firing Star After Sad Diva Affair

John Laurinaitis, a former Head of Talent Relations at WWE, made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he was allegedly involved in a hush money settlement scandal with Vince McMahon. The scandal had serious repercussions and led to Laurinaitis being associated with a negative image. Despite this, he has remained in the news due to allegations that he found pleasure in firing an AEW star who had previously worked at WWE.

Matt Hardy had three runs with WWE and has accomplished a lot during those three tenures. In 2005, Matt Hardy was briefly fired by WWE due to a scandal involving Edge and Lita, but he was eventually rehired later that same year. During a recent interview on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, he shared his relationship with John Laurinaitis and the issues he faced with him. Hardy alleged that Laurinaitis found pleasure in firing him in 2005, and he felt that Laurinaitis enjoyed the power he had over his employment status.

“John Laurinaitis and I, we had a lot of issues. I felt like whenever he called to release me in 2005, I felt like he was getting a little bit of enjoyment out of it because he’s like, ‘this guy clashed with me and he questioned my judgment.”

However, Laurinaitis’s career took a major hit, and he was placed on indefinite administrative leave after the hush money settlement scandal. His future at WWE was all but certain, and he was eventually fired by the company in the past year. Interestingly, Laurinaitis had previously pushed Vince McMahon for the Head of Talent Relations position in WWE, a position he eventually held before his departure.

Despite their rocky past, Matt Hardy and John Laurinaitis seem to be on better terms now, which is a good thing for Hardy. While Laurinaitis may no longer be associated with WWE, his controversial reputation continues to follow him. The allegations of finding pleasure in firing employees have not been confirmed or denied, but they continue to be a part of Laurinaitis’s legacy in the wrestling world. Regardless of the past, it is important for individuals to maintain positive relationships, and it seems that Hardy and Laurinaitis have been able to do so.
