As per the reports of Fightful, WWE referee Drake Wuertz was relieved of his duties from WWE and now the NXT roster opened up on his departure stating the reasons of WWE’s decision.
Why was Drake Weurtz released from WWE?
Wuertz has been a figure of controversy recently after his backstage NXT county commission video and news that he wasn’t allowed in the Capitol Wrestling Center(CWC) for several weeks. Now as it turns out more people that had spoken about him off the record were more willing to go on the record.
Several talents at the Performance Center claimed that Drake has had “nuclear heat brought on by himself” for the better part of a year. It was revealed that WWE had to forewarn him about attending events without a mask and not being vaccinated, and several “attempts for political plays.” Corey Graves ‘Disturbing’ Remark At Raw Leaks
With that being said, the roster was well aware that Wuertz had been trying to position himself for certain roles within the company. He was also willing to try to put heat on others to get there, and attempted to do it numerous times.
There were a couple of incidents where the minorities within NXT took exception to the way Wuertz had said things. One situation saw EJ Nduka (Ezra Judge) who almost got into a physical brawl with Wuertz.
Wuertz got involved in racism?
The former WWE Referee has been accused of racism as well. Wuertz had reportedly got major heat following the last year’s NXT In Your House.
Triple H gave a speech in the middle of the Black Lives Matter movement, which saw him say (paraphrasing) that all people, races, genders, and religions were welcomed.
It was reported that when “religions” were mentioned, Wuertz’s attitude immediately changed, and he aggressively gathered his belongings and had left. Stephanie McMahon Fires Two WWE Divas
Fightful also reported that they were informed by several talents that they didn’t feel comfortable or safe around Wuertz. He was also known to have loudly criticized wrestlers for getting vaccinations or even simple flu shots.
So there are several inside stories which are being exposed now. Apparently, Wuertz was involved in multiple controversial incidents that caused him ultimately to get released by WWE.
