WWE Fired Star Was Hospitalized After Attack

If you thought you’d heard it all, think again. This time it’s not Vince Russo, or the rest of the ill-fated WWE Attitude Era, drafting another ridiculous story line. It’s not even a sleep deprived Tony Khan, attempting a Russo style story. No, this was real life ridiculousness. According to Ringside News, this really happened.

WWE released referee Drake Wuertz from his contract in 2021 during one of their rounds of cuts. And as we all remember, there were plenty of firing. Drake made headlines prior to his release, but due to his controversial activities outside the ring.

Despite his release being so long ago, a lot of bizarre stories featuring the former WWE referee, who is not Earl Hebner, continue to circulate. One of these stories includes Drake getting attacked, albeit mauled, by a “bomb” dog.

The controversial ref gained infamy after sharing right-winged opinions that bordered on QAnon conspiracies. He eventually distanced himself from such stances, however, his name has remained tainted from it ever since. He may have cancel culture to thank for it.

While speaking on the “Oh You Didn’t Know” on AdFreeShows, WWE Hall Of Famer Road Dogg Jesse James recalls the time Drake Wuertz was attacked by a bomb dog. This is a story that was hinted at, but now Road Dogg is telling all, because he rode with Wuertz to the ER.

“One time the bomb dog attacked Drake Wuertz. He was asleep. He was the production referee, so he had to be there early to help put the ring up. So he was asleep in the room and they let the bomb dog in, and the dog just went and attacked him and started biting him. Yeah. I went to the emergency room with Drake. Yeah, that’s a true story, man. I got pictures on my phone of his dog bite and it was serious. The police department came back and kind of brushed it over like, ‘Yeah, well, whatever. He shouldn’t have been in there.’ I was like, ‘Your friggin dog bit my boy.’

It’s safe to say, this is another crazy story whose ground zero is the craziest business on the planet – professional wrestling. Perhaps Drake will pop up in a new angle at some point in the future, officiating a dog vs dog match – Road Dogg vs Dog.
