Bray Wyatt’s tenure in WWE has been marked by a series of highs and lows. Recently, fans have gained insight into some of the plans that were abandoned along the way.
In an interview with metro.co.uk, Mike Bennett, formerly known as Mike Kanellis in WWE, discussed the evolution of Bray Wyatt’s character, particularly his transformation into “The Fiend” in 2019. Bennett revealed that there were plans for Wyatt to lead a group, and he and Eric Young were set to join him.
According to Bennett, the intention was for the puppets associated with The Fiend to represent real individuals. He mentioned that he was in talks to portray Sister Abigail, while Eric Young would have embodied a buzzard. However, these plans were ultimately shelved.
“Early on when Bray Wyatt turned into The Fiend, Vince [McMahon] was always high on having Bray lead a group for some reason – he always wanted him to lead a group. We were about a week away from making it happen where me and Eric Young were gonna be part of Bray Wyatt’s group.”
“We were gonna actually be – they were gonna bring to life the puppets. Each puppet was gonna represent an actual person. I don’t remember, there were talks that I was gonna be Sister Abigail and Eric Young was gonna be a buzzard.”
Despite the potential for significant storylines in 2019, Bray Wyatt’s release from WWE occurred in 2021. Although he made a comeback in 2022, he hasn’t been seen since the road to WrestleMania. Fans are eagerly awaiting his return to see how his story unfolds.
While Bray Wyatt made a comeback, the interest in seeing Mike Bennett and his wife Maria Kanellis return to WWE seems to be less pronounced. However, Bennett has moved on from his WWE release and is pursuing other opportunities.
The future remains uncertain for Bray Wyatt. It is unclear if WWE will revisit the idea of the Wyatt 6 faction or if they have other plans in store for him. Until his return, fans can only speculate on what lies ahead for the enigmatic character.
