WWE has fired Tony Chimel and more members of staff

WWE already released over a hundred members of staff on April 15th of this year. Now it seems the company has released more staff in the latest round of cuts. This includes a name that fans will be very familiar with.

According to a report PW Insider, WWE has released Tony Chimel as well as other members of staff on Friday. It was said that around ten to fifteen employees were released. “Mostly logistical and behind the scenes” staffers were cut.

Tony Chimel was a long-time worker for WWE, starting his career in 1991. He was well-known for his work as an announcer on Friday Night Smackdown. He worked behind the scenes for the last few years.

There have been additional staff let go from World Wrestling Entertainment on Friday, mostly logistical and behind the scenes staff working out of Stamford, CT.  One source believed it was 10-15 staffers in total.

We will have to see if there will be more cuts.
