WWE issues statement on Hulk Hogan

The Immortal Hulk Hogan has been wanting to go back to the WWE since he was let go back in 2015. When the company terminated his contract, they stated that they’re “committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds.”

Since then, Hogan has gone on a sort of apology tour, begging for forgiveness from his fans and peers. Hogan appeared on multiple daytime talk shows and news broadcasts to declare that the statements he made in the 2012 sex tape are inconsistent with his personal beliefs.

It’s been about three years since WWE cut ties with Hulk Hogan, and according to TMZ, WWE wants to bring him back in “the right way.” Apparently, members of the Saudi Royal Family wanted Hogan to work at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. However, while creative threw around ideas to bring Hogan back, the company ultimately decided not to use him at the event.

The WWE was said to be keeping a close eye on Hogan’s speech from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame Induction on Wednesday. They issued the following statement earlier today:

WWE applauds the work Hulk Hogan is doing with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to turn what was a negative into a positive by helping young people learn from his mistake. While he has taken many steps in the right direction since we parted ways, Hogan is not currently under contract with the WWE.

It’s been noted before that Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has been working on bringing Hogan back for some time.
