WWE Legend In Trouble For Sad Chyna Remark

It’s been a while – in fact, twenty years. Does the name, Scotty 2 Hotty ring any ring bells? If you grew up watching professional wrestling in the late nineties and early two thousands, you may remember the “jobber” turned featured talent and his antics with Rikishi Fatu (from the Headshrinkers) and the late Brian Christopher (Jerry Lawler’s kid). Today, in 2022, Scotty is making headlines – and it’s not about his spiky bleached blonde hair.

According to WrestlingInc.com inter-gender matches have been controversial at best. But some say, if done right, there’s no harm in having men fight women. Come again? Men fighting women? Others believe that even “scripted” brutality against women is unacceptable. Scott “Scotty 2 Hotty” Garland is one of them.

The WWE legend took to Twitter recently and made his thoughts concerning the subject matter crystal clear:

“Dear promoters,” Garland tweeted. “I DO NOT ‘fight’ women. I’m 49 & have a 20 year old daughter. ‘Hurting’ women isn’t appealing to me. I understand that there are men that do it these days. It’s just not my thing. If that makes me old or out of touch, I’ll take it. Please stop trying to book it.” Garland then acknowledged that he’s aware he had matches with women in the past, but has moved on. “Also, before my matches from 20+ years ago with Linda Miles, Chyna, or any other women are brought up, I know what I did,” Garland tweeted. “It was a different time, a different place, & I wasn’t a father to a 20 yr old daughter.”

Scotty’s comments drew some heated responses, and in less than 12 hours, inspired him to delete his entire Twitter account. However, a screenshot of his initial tweet has been preserved.

I say good for you Scotty. Although, I personally would not have folded like a cheap ring chair and let the keyboard warriors do their worst. After all, personally I feel that you are right, and are as everyone else entitled to speak your opinion. Wait! I thought Elon Musk bought Twitter and made it a safe and fair environment to speak your truth without censorship. Was that live or just memorex?
