WWE Legend Quitting AEW For Triple H?

Fans have been enjoying the recent change WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has brought to the company. He has also brought back a handful of talents to the company who were previously released. Now, Joseph Feeney stated on Keepin’ it 100 with Konnan that he heard a rumor William Regal’s one year AEW deal is coming up, and he’ll turn down a deal that isn’t worth a huge amount of money. This could lead to him returning to WWE under Triple H.

Regal currently serves as the manager of Blackpool Combat Club comprising AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli. Before joining AEW, Regal served as the General Manager of NXT.

While Regal could join AEW, it seems that a AEW tag-team was approached to join WWE.

Triple H almost snatched The Kingdom

According to Fightful Select, there was some contact between WWE and The Kingdom (Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett, and Matt Taven) before they ended up putting pen to paper on their AEW contracts. The trio are now All Elite and have since made several appearances for Tony Khan’s company, but after the trio had left IMPACT Wrestling there was interest from WWE, as it had been reported the company wanted Taven.

As well as the former Ring Of Honor World Champion, there were conversations with all three members, including former WWE stars Kanellis and Bennett. However, even though WWE did reach out to talk with them, a firm contract offer was never put into place to sign them, and the situation was more a feeling-out process between the two sides than anything else. When it comes to who was contacting The Kingdom, it is believed by sources that Levesque and Gabe Sapolsky were the points of contact for them.
