WWE Losing Two Top Stars At SummerSlam

WWE are reportedly moving Edge vs. Finn Balor to WWE Clash at the Castle, Billi Bhatti reports on Keepin’ it 100. These are two more big names SummerSlam won’t have, in addition to Sasha Banks.

The former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks might have to wait to make her first non-WWE appearance. Her non-compete clause might be a lot longer than 90 days, which means that fans hoping to see her in AEW would have to wait at least a year if she decides to continue wrestling. The former WWE writer Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on Banks making an appearance following the RAW walk out a couple of months ago.

A few days ago, it was announced that Banks would make an appearance at C2E2 (Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo) next month. But it was reported that acquiring The Boss for the event was not easy on the pocket of the promoters as her presence for one day is reportedly costing them $30,000.

Vince Russo supports Sasha Banks for her demands

Vince Russo recently shared a tweet claiming that Banks is eligible to ask for whatever she wants, and there is a life after WWE. He added that the superstars should not be “at the mercy of a systematic dictatorship” but have their own free will to do as they please.

If @SashaBanksWWE can get what she’s asking for on the Open Market—I Think That’s AWESOME!!! Just another talented individual PROVING that there IS LIFE after @WWE. Why be at the Mercy of a Systematic Dictatorship when you can have the ABSOLUTE FREEDOM of being your own “Boss,” Russo wrote.

Sasha Banks was released as per the WrestlingInc and Raj Giri. New reports have emerged that noted her presence on the WWE’s internal roster. WrestleVotes stated that Sasha Banks has indeed been released from her WWE contract. However, PWInsider noted that she is seemingly with WWE. WWE doesn’t care anymore about Sasha Banks walkout. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the backstage opinion of the whole Banks situation had changed.

Fightful reported that many wrestling conventions have reached out to her but they were told that she could not appear until 2023. Non-wrestling convention organizers were given a specific rate to book her while wrestling-related promoters were told that she wasn’t taking wrestling-related bookings until January 1, which would be the soonest she can go to AEW. WWE is yet to officially confirm her release and there are conflicting reports on her status.
