WWE Massive SmackDown Return Spoiled

WWE is in the process of revamping its storylines, and matches and taking its roster in a new direction by announcing the season premiere for its flagship shows Raw and SmackDown.

The season premiere for Friday Night SmackDown will air on October 14 and a new report suggests that a big name will be on the show.

PWInsider has reported that Wade Barrett is set to make an appearance at this Friday’s SmackDown taping in Worcester, Massachusetts.

After leaving WWE in 2016, Barrett didn’t appear in any wrestling capacity except for some on-screen roles in the indies. Since August 2020, Barrett has been a staple at the NXT’s announcer’s table.

The report states that Barrett will call the show on SmackDown along with Michael Cole; however, this is not confirmed yet. Pat McAfee, who supplements Cole every Friday night, will be busy fulfilling his ESPN commitments.

As for the season premiere, this would mean that WWE could come up with new storylines, matches, gimmicks, or anything else that hasn’t been done before. This could also mean getting new champions and the company experimenting with new stuff that fans haven’t seen before. Let’s just hope they stick the landing, and it addresses problems that fans have had with the product for years.
