Welcome to WWE Monday Night RAW. There is a recap video of last week’s episode of RAW. Dean Ambrose walks to the ring to open RAW. Ambrose welcomes everyone to the Ambrose Asylum and tells a joke about Braun Strowman. He brings out Shane McMahon and McMahon walks out to a good pop. Ambrose showed the clip of McMahon jumping off the HIAC structure at WrestleMania 32. Ambrose asked him what his goals were in WWE. McMahon said that his goals were for the fans because they deserve better. He brought up AJ Styles and Sami Zayn. This leads to Kevin Owens walking out. Owens believes McMahon has it in for him and is against him. McMahon said that the only reason he had Owens removed last week was because he was going to attack Zayn last week. Owens said that Zayn doesn’t deserve to be around the WWE Title. This led to Zayn walking down to the ring. Zayn brought up the fact that he signed with WWE before Owens did and that is the reason why Owens hates him. Zayn said that Owens has made a career of stabbing his friends in the back. Chris Jericho walked down to the ring. Jericho told Zayn to shut up, and that McMahon was drunk with power. Jericho said that he is the best in the world at what he does. Shane booked Zayn vs. Owens and Ambrose vs. Jericho for Payback. A brawl between all four men broke out.
-Commercial Break-
Singles Match: Chris Jericho vs. Sami Zayn.
Zayn landed a series of arm drags and then hit him a big boot for 2. Zayn sent him to the floor and hit an outside dive. Back in the ring, Jericho knocked him off the top rope. Jericho caught him with a drop kick, and we cut to break.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Jericho hitting Zayn with a suplex for 2. Jericho locked in a headlock, but Zayn fought out and hit a clothesline. Zayn hit a crossbody off the top rope for 2. Jericho hit a running bulldog and went for the lionsault, but Zayn blocked it and hit a powerbomb for 2. Jericho hit him with a dropkick, but Zayn sent him to the floor. Zayn hit a DDT through the second rope to the floor. Back in the ring, Zayn put the boots to him. Jericho poked him in the eye and hit the Code Breaker for the win.
Winner: Jericho.
-Commercial Break-
AJ Styles is interviewed backstage by Mauro Ranallo, but Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows walked up. Styles hugged him, and they thanked him for letting them get their chance in WWE. Styles said that he is glad that they’re here. They then walk off set.
Tag Team Tournament Match: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs. The Dudley Boyz.
Bubba jumped Enzo and put the boots to him. We cut to break.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Enzo being clotheslined by Bubba. Devon was tagged in and hit a power slam. Bubba was tagged in and went to the top rope and missed a back splash. Cassady and Devon were tagged in. Cassady hit a series of clotheslines then an elbow drop. Cassady missed a splash and Bubba was tagged in. The Dudleys hit a reverse 3-D. Cassady pushed Devon out of the ring and hit a big boot to Bubba. Enzo was tagged in and hit a dive off the top rope for the win.
Winners: Enzo and Cassady.
-Commercial Break-
Roman Reigns walks down to the ring and cuts a promo about being “the guy” in WWE. He said that we’re in the Roman Empire era. Fans were heavily booing Reigns during his promo. AJ Styles walked to the ring and said that he will have the match of his life with Reigns at Payback. He said that doing that will make him a champion. Reigns said that he would beat Styles and if the fans don’t like it then so be it. Styles said he would rather be a WWE Champion that is liked. Styles walks to the stage. This led to Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows attacking Reigns from behind. Styles looks on in disbelief.
-Commercial Break-
Styles apologized to Reigns backstage for Anderson and Gallows attacking him. Reigns didn’t believe him and told him to bring all of his friends.
Singles Match: Baron Corbin vs. Fandango. Dolph Ziggler was on commentary for the match.
Corbin sent Fandango to the floor and sent him into Ziggler. Back in the ring, Corbin hit End of Days for the win.
Winner: Corbin.
Post-match, Corbin hit End of Days to Ziggler.
-Commercial Break-
Maryse and The Miz are in the ring. Maryse introduces Miz to the fans. Miz welcomes everyone to Miz TV. They start making out, and Cesaro walks out. Miz told Cesaro that he would beat him at Payback. Cesaro vowed that he would become Intercontinental Champion. Cesaro quoted Roddy Piper and said that he is here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and he is all out of bubblegum. Miz told Cesaro that he would face Rusev next. The League of Nations walks out. Cesaro told them that it won’t be he and Rusev in a singles match but rather an eight-man tag team match. New Day walks out, and this sets up the next match.
Eight-Man Tag Team Match: New Day and Cesaro vs. Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Rusev and The Miz.
Kingston and Del Rio started the match off. Kingston caught him with a kick, and he started to dance. Cesaro was tagged in and hit an uppercut. The New Day worked over Del Rio with frequent tags. Del Rio cut off Woods with a back breaker. Sheamus was tagged in and put the boots to him. Rusev was tagged in and kicked him in the chest.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back from break with LON in control of Woods. Woods caught Rusev with a DDT. Cesaro and Sheamus were tagged in. Cesaro hit him with several uppercuts. Cesaro hit Rusev, Miz, and Del Rio with uppercuts. Cesaro hit Sheamus with a crossbody for 2. Miz kicked Cesaro in the face, and Sheamus hit a powerbomb for 2. Woods broke it up. Rusev kicked Woods; Kingston kicked Rusev; Del Rio hit a backstabber to Kingston and Big E hit a suplex to Del Rio. Big E was taken out by Sheamus. Cesaro hit the Neutralizer to Sheamus for the win.
Winners: New Day and Cesaro vs. Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Rusev and The Miz.
-Commercial Break-
Mauro Ranallo interviews Charlotte and Ric Flair backstage. Natalya walked up and said that she would face Charlotte at WWE Payback and that she would have Bret Hart in her corner for the match.
-Commercial Break-
Natalya, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Paige vs. Tamina Snuka, Naomi, Summer Rae and Charlotte.
Things broke down in the ring, and Lynch took out Naomi with a dive to the floor to cut to break.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Tamina hitting a big boot to Lynch. Tamina locked in a headlock and then threw her to the ground. Naomi was tagged in and was sent to the floor. Natalya and Summer Rae were tagged in. Natalya hit a drop kick to Rae. Rae fought back with a spinning heel kick. Charlotte was tagged in, and Natalya clotheslines her. Natalya went for the sharpshooter and won the match.
Winners: Natalya, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Paige.
-Commercial Break-
Tag Team Tournament Match: The Vaudevillians vs. The Usos.
English and Jimmy started off the match. English caught him with a knee strike and landed a series of strikes. English locked in a headlock, but Jimmy fought out and kicked him in the face. Jey was tagged in and hit a series of strikes to him. Jey super kicked him for 2 as Gotch broke it up. Gotch sent Jimmy into the barricade. Jey took out Gotch with an outside dive. Back in the ring, English sent him into the ring post, and The Vaudevillians hit the tag team finisher for the win.
Winners: The Vaudevillians.
-Commercial Break-
Singles Match: Apollo Crews vs. Heath Slater.
They lock up, and Crews was sent into the ring post. Crews fought back and hit a crossbody. Crews kick him in the head and hit a powerbomb for the win.
Winner: Crews.
-Commercial Break-
Singles Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens.
Ambrose goes right after him and landed a series of strikes. Zayn sent him to the floor and hit an outside dive. He then sent him over the announce table.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Owens having Ambrose in a headlock. Owens sent him to the floor and hit a frog splash off the apron onto Ambrose. Back in the ring, Ambrose hit Owens with a back suplex. Ambrose then hit a flying elbow. Ambrose and Owens battled on the top rope. Ambrose hit a superplex. Ambrose reversed a powerbomb and hit a hurricanrana. Owens hit a superkick for 2. Ambrose kicked Owens in the gut and hit Dirty Deeds for the win.
Winner: Ambrose.
Post-match, Jericho ran down and hit Ambrose with a Code Breaker to close the show.
