WWE Monday Night RAW results from 5/8/17

Here are the results from tonight’s taped episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in the UK (courtesy of Kings Of Kayfabe):

 


 

— There was no pyro or opening video, but rather we see Dean Ambrose on the phone in the backstage arena. He was on the phone with Kurt Angle. Ambrose hung up and asked a stagehand to play his music and then he headed to the ring. He cut a promo about how Angle was not in attendance and made him the acting general manager of the night. This led to The Miz walking out to the ring and stated that he would be the co-general manager for the night after saying that he spoke with Stephanie McMahon. Ambrose offered Miz a handshake. This led to Braun Strowman walking out and said that he wants Roman Reigns and once he’s done with him he wants Brock Lesnar. Kalisto walked out and demanded another match with Strowman. Strowman said that he could beat Kalisto with one arm. Ambrose booked the match for later in the show. Miz congratulated Ambrose on ending Kalisto’s career. Ambrose announced Miz vs. Finn Balor for later in the show.

— Singles Match: Finn Balor defeated The Miz when Miz pushed Balor into the referee and was disqualified. This led to Ambrose coming out and restarted the match and banned Maryse from ringside. Balor hits a Coup de Grace for the win.

— Alexa Bliss was shown backstage when Nia Jax walked in. Jax noted how Bliss dissed everyone but her last week on RAW. Jax wants a title match after Bliss is done with Bayley. Bliss promised that she would talk to Angle about it. Jax stated that they are now best friends.

— Non-Title Match: RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss defeated Mickie James. Nia Jax and Bayley were ringside for the match. The finish of the match saw Bliss knock Mickie out in the corner after Jax grabbed James’ leg for the pin. Post-match, Bayley chased Bliss to the back while Nia attacked James.

— There was a backstage segment with The Miz and Ambrose. Miz was upset that Ambrose booked the entire show. Miz had a Miz TV segment planned with a member of One Direction, but Ambrose canceled it. Miz booked Ambrose in a match against Bray Wyatt

— A tale of the tape was shown for Braun Strowman vs. Kalisto.

— Samoa Joe was interviewed backstage. Seth Rollins jumped Joe, and they brawled until WWE officials separated them.

— Strowman walked down to the ring with his left arm in a sling for his match with Kalisto. Strowman grabbed the microphone and said that he is injured and won’t compete tonight. Strowman then hit Kalisto with a big boot, and the match started. This led to Roman Reigns, who had his upper body taped up, coming down to the ring and had a staredown with Strowman. Reigns hit several superman punches to knock Strowman down. Strowman recovered and kicked Reigns in the bad shoulder. Reigns used a steel chair on Strowman’s bad arm. Strowman fled through the crowd to end the segment.

— It was announced that Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins would take place later in the show.

— #1 Contenders Tag Team Turmoil Match: Cesaro & Sheamus defeated Golden Truth, Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Heath Slater & Rhyno, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. The finish of the match saw Cesaro rolling up R-Truth for the win. Post-match, Cesaro, and Sheamus attacked R-Truth and Goldust until The Hardy Boyz ran down to make the save.

— Singles Match: Seth Rollins defeated Samoa Joe when Joe sent him into the exposed turnbuckle and got DQ’d. Post-match, Joe continued the attack on Rollins until referees stopped him.

— Singles Match: TJP defeated Jack Gallagher by using the tights. Neville was on commentary for the match. Post-match, TJP kept attacking Gallagher until Aries, who was wearing a leg brace, ran down to make the save.

— Singles Match: Sasha Banks defeated Alicia Fox with the double knees off the top.

— It was announced that Ambrose would face Miz for the Intercontinental Title on next week’s show.

— Singles Match: Bray Wyatt defeated Dean Ambrose after The Miz, who was on commentary for the match, hit Ambrose with the Intercontinental Title then Wyatt hit Sister Abigail for the win. Post-match, Miz attacked Ambrose to close the show.
