WWE ‘Not Offering’ Contract To Former Champion

It has been heavily reported that Adam Cole’s current WWE deal is due to expire the weekend of SummerSlam 2021 and his final appearance for the company could be at NXT TakeOver 36. It was initially thought that the contract of former NXT Champion would expire in early 2022 but the deal expired following NXT The Great American Bash last month. He had signed a short-term extension but did not renew his contract.

WWE did not formally offer a contract to Adam Cole

FightfulSelect.com reported that the former NXT Champion, Cole had hoped to keep the situation quiet and it seemed there was an understanding that it would be kept concealed. But, when others found about the contract dispute, argued that the possible expiry of the deal should be publicized due to the competitive nature of the wrestling world. By the end of July, word had spread that Adam Cole’s new “agreement” was set to run through Summerslam. Fightful Select confirmed that:

“Cole has not formally been offered a full on, new contract by WWE as of yet, but were told “it’s obviously planned” by a person of influence within WWE.”

It is to be seen if Cole is offered a new contract or he will part ways with WWE.
