WWE NXT results July 22: Dijakovic collides with Kross

Show Opening

Wrestling-Edge welcomes you to the full results and coverage for WWE NXT on USA Network for July 22, 2020 airing from the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.  We see the WWE Forever logo as 8:00 p.m. hits and the show starts. The show immediately kicks off with William Regal prepared to make an announcement on Zoom.

William Regal Announcement

As we see William Regal at the start of the show, Regal states that at this time, Keith Lee wants to address the WWE Universe directly. Regal adds a congratulations to Lee on his recent NXT Championship title win as he turns things over to Lee.

Keith Lee Announcement

NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion Keith Lee discusses the strides he’s made in NXT since his start. Making note of his mentor,  “Killer” Tim Brooks, we see a clip of Keith Lee holding both championship title belts following his victory over Adam Cole. Lee says of the late Tim Brooks, “even though you’re gone, you spoke the truth” through tears in a clip from an interview following his win at the American Bash.

Lee moves on to his announcement for tonight. While he embraces the fact people call him limitless, he doesn’t want to “limit” others either, that’s not his intention. Lee states, “I will continue to defend the NXT Championship Title. However, at this point in time, I will be relinquishing the North American Championship title. I believe people deserve a chance to get the same opportunities that I have had.”

We flash back to William Regal as he returns stating he loves Keith’s idea, so tonight NXT will hold a Triple Threat Qualifying Match and on August 22nd there will be a Ladder Match where the new North American Champion will be crowned at NXT TakeOver!
