NXT North American Championship
NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff vs. Johnny Gargano

Leon Ruff makes his way to the ring first as the NXT North American Champion for the first time since his win! (After Leon enters the ring, we see a recap of Ruff winning the match against Gargano last week after the “Spin the Wheel Challenger” challenge that was rigged by Gargano for what he thought would be an easy win.)

Gargano makes his way out next and proceeds to force officials to shut off the recap video. He says that last weeks was a fluke and Ruff is a pawn of Damian Priest. Gargano says that Ruff is a joke, but the joke is over tonight. Gargano cheap shots Ruff, but Ruff says that he is ready for the match. Gargano drives Ruff into the corner, then whips Ruff hard across the ring. Gargano picks up Ruff and lays into him with forearms and chops.

Ruff comes back with chops of his own, then strikes at Gargano’s midsection, then he evades Gargano’s suplex attempt, catching him with a dropkick, sending Gargano out of the ring. Ruff hits a dive over the top rope onto Gargano, then rolls Gargano into the ring. Ruff goes for the crucifix pin again, but Gargano blocks and takes out Ruff with a clothesline. Gargano lawn darts Ruff into the corner. Gargano picks up Ruff and lawn darts him again into the opposite corner. Gargano drags Ruff into the middle of the ring.

Gargano looks poised for a DIY style superkick, but is distracted by Damian Priest coming down the ramp. Ruff tries to roll up Gargano for the victory, but Gargano kicked out. Ruff lays out Gargano with a clothesline and goes for a splash from the top rope, but Gargano rolls out of the way and catches Ruff with a superkick.

Gargano picks up Ruff and hits him with a powerbomb. Gargano hits Ruff with One Final Beat and pins Ruff. Gargano had the match won, but Damian Priest pulls Ruff out of the ring. Ruff looks at Priest with a questioning look, and Priest says, “Sorry kid,” then knocks him out with a forearm to the face.

After the Match

It is announced that Leon Ruff wins by Disqualification, which coincidentally seems to have been Priest’s plan the entire time. Priest then proceeds to carry Ruff to the back, championship belt in hand.

Out first for this next match-up is Cameron Grimes as his music sounds in the Capitol Wrestling Center as Grimes makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring. Grimes removes his hat and hangs it on the ring post. Grimes looks up the ramp to the stage as he awaits his opponent. The eerie music of Dexter Lumis sounds next as Lumis makes his way to the stage, giving his blank soul-stealing stare to the camera, then makes his way down the ramp. Lumis joins Grimes inside the ring where Grimes insists that the bell doesn’t ring until Lumis’s blindfold is on.

The referee tells them both to put their blindfolds on. Lumis puts his blindfold on without a word. Grimes heads towards Lumis but the referee stops him and tells him once again to put his blindfold on. Grimes states, “I can’t SEE if I put it on!” (thank you captain obvious!) Again the referee reminds him to put the blindfold on, this time, Grimes complies. Meanwhile, Lumis stands on his side of the ring with a black bag over his head, not moving an inch. The referee signals for the bell and the match is officially underway!

Grimes has his black bag over his head as well, he runs and jumps at… nothing. Landing on the mat then immediately to his knees as he extends his arms with his hands spread out wide feeling for whatever he can find. Lumis continues to stand without moving yet. Grimey tries to take off his blindfold, but the ref chastises him. He misses a crossbody, and then runs crashing into the ropes and turnbuckles looking for Lumis. Lumis continues to just stand still, waiting to “feel” Grimes out.

Grimes swings at the air and then when he takes a swing at the ref, Lumis seems to sense him. Grimes gets in the corner and when he senses the ref is behind him he cold cocks him! Then he puts the boots to the official! He takes his mask off and Grimes thinks he has the upperhand. He goes for a Cave In, but Lumis sidesteps it and punches Grimes. He gets in some more offense with the blindfold on, but Grimes eventually accidentally takes the bag of his head. Grimes flees to the outside to try and escape. Lumis follows him to the outside and proceeds to slam Grimes off the barricade multiple times. Finally, Lumis throws him at the fence and Johnny catches it and climbs over to run away.
