This week’s episode of NXT saw another triple threat match among Damian Priest, Oney Lorcan and a relatively unknown name for the mainstream audience in Ridge Holland to determine the contenders for the upcoming North American Championship match.
While the English star Holland couldn’t manage to win the bout, latest reports suggest that we may see a lot more of him in future as the WWE officials have high hopes for him.
Bryan Alvarez talked about the bout on the latest Wrestling Observer Live and talking about Ridge Holland, he revealed that WWE officials “think that he has the potential to be the next big thing.”
What’s interesting to note here is that ‘The Next Big Thing’ catchphrase has long been associated with none other than the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar and being considered a successor to him is nothing short of an accomplishment in itself.
Though there is no word yet on what the company is planning for Holland next and it would be interesting to see if he is able to live up to this hype in future.
