WWE planning to use more managers in the future?

With Drake Maverick and, apparently, Lio Rush pulling double duty during the week, appearing as managers on Monday Night Raw while also working on 205 Live, it looks like managers are making a comeback in the WWE.

Managers have always been around but compared to the 80’s and early 90’s, they are few and far between. However, after the success that Paul Heyman has brought in regards to Brock Lesnar and the Paul Heyman Guys (depending on if you considered that successful), it looks like the WWE plans on bringing managers back in a big way.

The Wrestling Observer has recently speculated that Vince McMahon, who has been somewhat against managers over the past few decades, may have changed his tune thanks to Heyman, and could bring more managers around for Raw, Smackdown, 205 Live, and NXT.

The WWE will look to turn those on their roster who are known for their mic work for these roles, along with some talent from outside of the company.

Will Drake Maverick and Lio Rush benefit AOP and Lashley? Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas has definitely reaped the rewards of having a mouthpiece around, with Zelina Vega turning him into an NXT Champion before the duo arrived on Smackdown Live, so it’s definitely possible. Maverick and Rush are definitely two of the best talkers on 205 Live, so it seems like a good decision to pair them with talent who lack in that department.

How do you feel about a resurgence of managers? Sound off in the comments.
