On April 15th of this year, WWE released over a hundred employees, which included WWE Superstars, producers, writers and other members of staff. It was the biggest mass exodus in the company’s history. Some were furloughed and it seems they could be returning to the company eventually.
During WWE’s third quarter 2020 investors call, WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer, Nick Khan stated that the company is likely to hire back all the furloughed employees by the end of this year.
It was also said in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this will make up “25%” of WWE’s total workforce. They have already brought back a couple of people. On the other hand, they have also told former employees such as Gerald Brisco that he is no longer needed.
With the company earning a substantial profit for the last quarter, we will have to see whether they do hire all the furloughed employees back.
