There is no question that AJ Styles has been thrown off his game more than he ever has since coming to WWE right now, and it’s all because of Samoa Joe. Joe has absolutely terrorized The Phenomenal One, centering his mental warfare around AJ’s family.
However, this week, Joe may have taken it too far. Instead of showing up at Smackdown Live to sign the contract for his no-DQ and no-count-out match against Styles, Joe appeared on the titantron. Eventually, it was revealed that Joe was actually at the champ’s house in Georgia, and actually went as far as to ring the door bell and threaten going inside AJ’s home before the show went off the air.
AJ begged and pleaded with Joe not to do anything crazy to his family, and while Joe has been at this for a while, this seemed different. Usually Styles gets angry and enraged to the point of snapping, but this week, Styles was visibly upset and disturbed with Joe’s games. Instead of anger, Joe instilled fear into the champ this week, and if he continues to do so, we may have a new WWE Champion in Melbourne next weekend. However, if Styles can overcome Joe’s mind-games one more time and retain his title, he may have a legitimate shot at climbing to #1 in our Rankings.
