WWE promoting XFL’s return on Smackdown

The XFL will be returning next year. While Vince McMahon said the promotion and WWE will be separate entities, the former is being promoted on Smackdown.

On this week’s episode of Smackdown in Brooklyn, WWE promoted XFL. According to fans, WWE showed a number of New York Guardians commercials on the big screen. Brad Shepard reported WWE then set up a contest for tickets.

I’m told in the arena at #WWE #SmackDown tonight they just showed a number of @XFLGuardians advertisements on the tron and the ring announcer did a promo on it with a contest for tickets. There’s also a booth set up in the arena too.

As XFL is also owned by Vince McMahon, it is not surprising he is plugging the promotion. Whether or not it will be a success, we will know next year.
