WWE Raw Champion Marries Ex-Diva In Photo

WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther recently took to his Twitter account on Monday morning to share a photo of him with his wife, former WWE NXT UK star Jinny, from their London wedding over the weekend.

They started dating each other in 2021 after meeting in WWE NXT UK before the brand was shut down and Gunther was moved to NXT. Gunther was recently drafted to WWE Raw alongside Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium.

Meanwhile, Jinny had been one of the most prominent women’s wrestlers on the United Kingdom indie scene before signing with WWE in 2018. She held the PROGRESS Wrestling Women’s Championship twice and Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Undisputed British Women’s Championship once.

It was back in January that the former two-time Progress Women’s Champion who last competed on November 18, 2021 during an “NXT UK” event, announced her retirement from professional wrestling following a lengthy injury layoff.

D.S. Shin of Ring The Belle pushed out his new interview with the former NXT UK talent. She opened up about her decision to retire and that decision came after dealing with a concussion that took longer to recover from than she expected.  Jinny felt she had to be smart about her next move and did not want to risk getting hurt on a greater scale if she were to get back in the ring.

“So, when I was injured, this was actually the longest time that I had been out with any injury and during the time of being injured and having the symptoms, I was just like, oh wow, this is taking so long for my body to heal. The injury that I actually had, it was a concussion. Unfortunately, I took quite a few blows to the head and it was the worst one I’ve ever had and halfway through, I was like, if my body’s taking this long to heal, if I get hit again, is it gonna take even longer? And I just had to be smart about it. I love wrestling. I’m a wrestling fan, I always will be and it was a really hard decision because if it wasn’t for that, would I be wrestling still? Yes. But, your health is wealth and as difficult as it is and as much as I love this business and as much as I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I’ll be okay,’ I had to be smart about it and make sure I look after myself, not just for now but in the long run as well.”
