WWE United States States Champion – ‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus has been on a tear since winning the prestigious championship at WWE WrestleMania 37 from the previous title holder – Riddle. During his reign he would offer the chance for several notable competitors such as Ricochet, Humberto Carrillo and others in various open challenges – many of them non-title. This former WWE Raw Champion recently ‘angered’ Vince McMahon
However, will we see Sheamus vacating the title sooner rather than later? Hardly likely as while the three time United States Champion suffered a broken nose during this past Monday’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, it appears that Sheamus is not looking to vacate the championship any time soon. Sheamus took to social media via Twitter to emphatically proclaim: “…sorry NOT VACATING” after a non-title loss to Carrillo.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio last month, Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre recollected and revisited his feud with ‘The Celtic Warrior’ which culminated at a No Holds Barred contest at WWE Fastlane back earlier in the year with ‘The Scottish Warrior’ winning. “He [Sheamus] was there for the good times and bad times. I wouldn’t get through a lot of them without him being there for me. He’s always been such a big brother for me. To come back to the company and get that moment with the title and him being there. Finally, after 20 years, we got a chance to put our story on television.
“We wish we had more time to tell the story that we would’ve liked to tell, but things move so fast and we got the opportunity to tell it anyway and we were grateful for that. We knew through our work we’d catch people’s attention. A former WWE Champion was ‘hurt’ on Raw in this brutal photo.
