WWE RAW Results For August 17th: Contract Signing Between Cena & Rollins

Welcome to the WWE Raw pre-show and we are live on the WWE Network. Scott Stanford, Corey Graves and David Otunga. A graphic was shown about Jon Stewart hosting SummerSlam. They hype what we will see tonight, which is Seth Rollins and John Cena having a contract signing. Also, The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will be in the same arena at the same time.

The Miz joined the show via phone about how he will bring both Ryback and The Big Show down at SummerSlam. He talked about taking out their legs to become the new IC champ. The Miz revealed that he would be facing Ryback on RAW tonight.

A video package recapping the Stardust – Stephen Amell feud is shown. Stephen Amell called into the show and said that he’s as ready as he’ll ever be in his match against King Barrett and Stardust.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw, the Authority walks down to the ring to open the show. Stephanie plugs SummerSlam on the WWE Network this Sunday night. They hype that it’s so big that it will be a four-hours. Graphics is shown for Brock Lesnar – Undertaker, John Cena – Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Also, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt. Triple H booked Luke Harper vs. Roman Reigns for tonight. Stephanie hyped the Divas-Three-Team elimination match for SummerSlam but also announced that Nikki Bella vs. Sasha Banks would be happening tonight. Triple H said that the road to SummerSlam starts right here, right now. Randy Orton’s music hits and he walks down to the ring.

-Commercial Break-

Tag team match: Randy Orton and Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens and Sheamus

Cesaro and Owens started things off, but Owens was quick to tag in Sheamus. The same happens with Orton and Cesaro. So, now we have Sheamus and Orton starting the match. Sheamus rolled right out of the ring and told the fans to respect his hawk (mohawk). Back in the ring, Sheamus caught Orton with a shoulder block. Orton answered with his own. Owens now tagged in and put the boots to Orton. Orton kicked Owens in the gut, tagged in Cesaro, who hit a suplex on Owens. Cesaro hit a springboard uppercut taking out Owens. Owens rolled to the floor to regroup.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with Cesaro getting the hot tag from Orton and clearing house on Sheamus. Cesaro with a series of uppercuts to Sheamus in the corner. Cesaro went to the top rope and hit a crossbody for 2. Sheamus with a back elbow, then a power slam. Sheamus to the top rope, he went for a clothesline but ate an uppercut instead for 2. Cesaro with an uppercut then tagged in Orton, who hit a back breaker. He went for an RKO on Owens but blocked so he hit it on Sheamus. That finish was botched.

Result: Orton and Cesaro.

The Undertaker is shown in the back with purple smoke surrounding him. He cuts a promo about how when the reaper calls your name there is no remorse, it’s just over. Lesnar the hounds of hell is calling for your sole. The gates of hell are opening for Lesnar. The Undertaker says Lesnar’s name has been called and he will never rest in peace.

We see Seth Rollins looking over the contract for his match with John Cena at SummerSlam backstage with the Authority. He says that’s all great, but he wants one more thing. He said that he wants his own statue in WWE HQ.

-Commercial Break-

Singles match: Roman Reigns vs. Luke Harper

Reigns and Harper exchanged right hands to start the match. Harper with a headlock on Reigns, but Reigns fought out and clotheslines Harper out of the ring. Reigns with a dropkick to the face of Harper…

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Harper in control of Reigns with clubbing right hands to the back of Reigns. Reigns countered a headlock with a back suplex. Harper with a sick big boot to pin Reigns for a count of 2. Harper with the gator roll, then a big right hand. Harper missed a clothesline and Reigns hit one of his own. Reigns with another one, he fired up. Reigns ran into a big knee, but no sold it and hit a back suplex. Reigns with more clotheslines in the corner, Reigns sent Harper to the floor and hit a flying clothesline to Harper off the apron. Reigns with a clothesline when they got back in the ring for 2. Reigns went for a Samoan drop but blocked and Harper landed a series of elbows to the face of Reigns. Harper clotheslines Reigns to the floor and the referee starts to count. Harper went for a dive but ate a superman punch. Back in the ring, Reigns ran right into a side slam for 2. Harper with a superkick then the sitdown powerbomb for a near fall. Harper went for a clothesline, but Reigns connected with the Superman punch then the spear for the win.

Winner: Roman Reigns.

-Commercial Break-

Singles match: Tamina Snuka vs. Becky Lynch

They lock up, Snuka missed a clothesline but did catch Lynch when she bounced off the ropes with a power slam. Snuka with another power slam for 2. Team Bella is seen looking on from the backstage area. Lynch fought out of a headlock, she bounced off the ropes and ate a back elbow. Snuka tossed Lynch into the corner but missed a splash. Lynch with a springboard kick, she went to the top rope and hit a dropkick for 2. Lynch locked in the Disarmer for the win.

Winner: Lynch

-Commercial Break-

Singles match: Mark Henry vs. Rusev with Lana on commentary.

Henry with a series of headbutts to Rusev to begin the match. Rusev rolled to the floor, Henry followed him out there and tossed him into the barricade. Back in the ring, Henry with a power slam for 2. Rusev rolled to the floor and sent him head-first into the ring post. Rusev talked some trash to Lana, who was on commentary. Rusev with the superkick then the Accolade.

Winner: Rusev.

Post-match, Lana got in the ring and yelled at Summer Rae to come on. Rae got in the ring, she was slapped by Lana. Then, Lana tells Rusev to get in the ring. Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and he ran down to the ring and got a huge pop. Ziggler attacked Rusev, then went for a superkick, but Rusev stood behind Rae. Lana with a heel kick to Rae. Ziggler with a superkick to Rusev. Ziggler and Lana stood tall in the ring to close the segment.

Dolph Ziggler cuts a promo backstage about how he wants to face Rusev at SummerSlam.

Singles match: The Miz vs. Ryback

Miz with a series of shoulder blocks then took the legs from under Ryback. Ryback fought back with a series of clotheslines then a power slam. Ryback with the Meathook Clothesline then the Shellshock for the win.

Winner: Ryback.

Post-match, Ryback told Big Show to get his big ass in the ring because he’s still hungry. Big Show declined and walked to the back.

-Commercial Break-

The Authority is in the ring for the official contract signing between John Cena and Seth Rollins. They introduce Seth Rollins and he walks down to the ring. Rollins promised to beat John Cena at SummerSlam. He said that the WWE Universe is very lucky because every time they show up to a WWE Live Event, they know they will witness him in action. He also said that they should feel lucky to see him beat John Cena to become the new U.S Champ this Sunday at SummerSlam. Rollins said that Cena is a disease and with one knee to the nose of Cena, he sent Cena tumbling down the hill atop of the WWE mountain. He said that he is the cure that will take care of the disease. John Cena’s music hits and he walks down to the ring. Cena said that half of the arena is chanting that Cena sucks while the other half is cheering him. No one is talking about Rollins.

Cena said that Rollins is a cheap imitation of John Cena. Cena said that it’s about time to make the WWE title mean something. Cena said that Triple H has given Rollins everything he has right now. He said that the only problem Triple H and Rollins has been him. Cena said that since he’s been sitting at home, he’s been thinking about what kind of payback, he will dish out to Rollins at SummerSlam. Break a leg? An arm? A nose? No, he will become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the sixteen.

He said that he thought several months back that there’s no way he would be given a WWE Championship match again, but way too go “Captain Morgan, you gave me that.” Cena said that he would tie that record of Ric Flair, who is the mentor of Triple H. Cena said that Rollins will become a trivia note of when they asked who Cena beat to become the 16-time champ. Cena stated that Ric Flair was never Triple H’s bitch, but this Sunday, he’s going to make Rollins his.

Eight-man tag team match: Prime Time Players and Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores and New Day

Things broke down quickly, O’Neil hit a few power slams on the Los Matadores then a splash in the corner on Fernando. He was distracted by Xavier Woods so that Fernando could hit a backbreaker on O’Neil. Back in the ring, Kalisto hit a springboard hurricano ana on Fandango for the win.

Winners: Prime Time Players and Lucha Dragons

-Commercial Break-

King Barrett and Stardust cuts a backstage promo hyping their upcoming match against Stephen Amell and Neville at Summerslam.

Singles match: Nikki Bella vs. Sasha Banks

They lock up, Bella with a power slam then locked in a chin lock. Banks fought out of that but ate a back elbow. Banks with a forearm shot, then a double knee drop in the corner to the ribs of Bella.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Nikki missing a springboard kick that was badly botched. Nikki with a series of dropkicks then a clothesline in the corner. Nikki with the Alabama Slamma for 2. Banks countered a clothesline and hit a backbreaker for 2. Banks went for a roll up on Nikki, but she countered and hit an electric chair on Banks. Nikki hit Banks with a forearm shot, Naomi distracted Nikki and Banks hit the Bank Statement for the win.

Winner: Sasha Banks.

PCB cuts a backstage a promo backstage about how they will take care of business this Sunday at SummerSlam and will do some with some flair, “Wooo!”

-Commercial Break-

Paul Heyman is in the ring for the final segment in the show. Heyman lists all of the accomplishments of his client, Brock Lesnar. He introduced Brock Lesnar. There was confetti falling down from the rafters during his entrance. Heyman starting singing about how Lesnar beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania and that the conqueror marches on. Lights go off, then back on with no deadman. Heyman is scared for his life in the corner as Lesnar laughs. Heyman mocks Undertaker for playing mind games. Heyman said that no even the devil and The Undertaker can’t beat Brock Lesnar. Lesnar will take them to suplex city.

Heyman said since WrestleMania 30, The Undertaker has been waiting to get his hands on Lesnar. Once he had that chance, Taker went for the low blow. Heyman said that The Undertaker knew that he couldn’t take on Lesnar. Heyman said that The Undertaker has never and never will beat Brock Lesnar. Heyman said that The Undertaker fears Brock Lesnar. Heyman said that if you put any other man in the ring with Taker right now, Taker would destroy that man, except fro Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is a beast, the beast, who put an end to the streak. Heyman said Lesnar will offer no respect, no recognition for Taker’s wins, being in WWE for 25-years. The gong hit, lights go out then back on and we see Taker hitting Lesnar with a low blow. The fans boo. Taker went for a chokeslam then hit it. Taker went for the tombstone, then hit it. Taker then looked over at Heyman, who is at ringside as Heyman is screaming OMG. Taker stood over Lesnar to close the show.
