WWE RAW Report – September 21st, 2009

– Tonight’s RAW kicks off with Michael Cole welcoming us to RAW. We see a black limousine out back. Out comes Cedric The Entertainer, The Bella Twins and some friends of Cedric’s, including what looks like a high school football team, an old lady, a rabbi with a baby and a farmer with a goat. Cedric and The Bellas head to the building as we go to the opening RAW video.

 


 

– The pyro hits and we go to the arena where Cole and Lawler hype Cedric as tonight’s host. DX’s music hits and out they come to a big pop from the crowd in Little Rock.

Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes

Shawn isn’t dressed to wrestle but Triple H is ready to go. DX do their usual entrance. The crowd goes nuts for DX. They talk about Hell in a Cell and remind everyone that HBK won the first-ever Hell in a Cell match. They also remind us that Triple H has won more Hell in a Cell matches than anyone in WWE, with 5 wins. And they remind us that Legacy has never even competed in a Hell in a Cell match. Out comes Cody Rhodes. Cody strikes first and knocks Triple H back in the corner with kicks and rights.

Cody keeps in control until he runs into the ring post. Triple H throws him right back into it twice. Triple H locks on a crossface. Cody gets his foot on the ropes to break the hold. Ted tends to Cody until Triple H kicks them both into the fan barrier. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and Cody has a chinlock on Triple H. Triple H fights out but gets dropped by a swinging neck breaker for a 2 count. Cody with right hands and a choke on the ropes. Ted gets a cheap shot on Triple H for a 2 count by Cody. Cody counters a move and drops Triple H again for a 2 count. Cody hits the top rope moonsault but still only gets a 2 count.

Cody mocks HBK at ringside. Triple H ends up dumping Cody over the top to the floor. Cody slaps HBK and Shawn chases him around the ring, knocking Ted down. They drop HBK into the announcer’s table and double team Shawn some more. Shawn is laid out on the floor. Cody goes back in the ring and Triple H tries for a Pedigree. Ted rushes the ring with a chair and hits Triple H, then nailing him in the head. Lots of heat from the crowd. They hit the Cross Rhodes and Dream Street in the ring on Triple H. HBK finally gets up and rushes the ring with a sledgehammer as Legacy take off for the ramp.

– Cole plugs Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston for the US Title tonight on RAW. Also, we will have the contract signing between John Cena and Randy Orton for Hell in a Cell. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and Lilian Garcia introduces tonight’s guest host – actor and comedian Cedric The Entertainer. Out he comes to the stage with the Bella Twins. Cedric gets the crowd hype and says he is a true WWE fan. He cuts a joke on Big Show driving a Prius. He talks about second generation talents and calls Cowboy Bob Orton, Cowboy Bob Thornton. He shows graphics with Mark Henry as the son of the Koolaid Man, Big Show as the son of King Kong Bundy & Andre The Giant and others. Out comes Santino Marella.

Santino says Cedric’s new DVD has inspired him to become a stand up comedian. Cedric arranges for Santino to do some stand up comedy and introduces him. Santino does some stuff before Cedric cuts him off. Chavo Guerrero’s music hits and out he comes. Cedric makes fun of Chavo letting a leprechaun beat him every week. Santino tells Cedric that Chavo wasn’t letting Hornswoggle beat him. Chavo said the problem was everytime he faced Hornswoggle, he lost the match because of punk hosts like Cedric. Chavo says he’s tired of the guest hosts and says it’s pathetic. Cedric says what’s pathetic is Chavo getting karate chopped by Bob Barker. Chavo asks Cedric if he’s a tough guy now. Chavo challenges Cedric to a match tonight. Cedric says he’s cool and he don’t wrestle and plugs one of his projects. Santino accepts the challenge for Cedric. Cedric says he doesn’t want to wear the tight pants.

– Josh Matthews is backstage with The Miz, who still has Kofi Kingston’s US Title he stole last week. Miz says the US Champion should really be from the USA and says he didn’t floar over on a raft like Kofi Kingston. Kofi attacks Miz from behind and gets his title back. We go to commercial.

Evan Bourne vs. The Miz

Back from the break and Evan Bourne makes his way to the ring. Out next is his opponent The Miz. Bourne taunts Miz before the match. Miz takes it to the corner. Some back and forth action before Miz takes control. Miz keeps on the offensive until Bourne counters a move and rolls him up for 2. Miz nails a big neckbreaker for a close 2 count.

Miz chokes Bourne on the ropes and gets another 2 count. Miz tries a few submissions until Bourne finally breaks free and attacks with kicks. Miz with a big clothesline in the corner. Bourne takes Miz to the top and hurricanrana’s him down. Bourne goes back to the top but misses the Shooting Star Press as Miz moves out of the way. Miz nails the Crushing Finale for the pinfall and the win.

Winner: The Miz

– Backstage, Randy Orton walks up to Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. He gives them the night off and says he doesn’t need them at the contract signing, everything will be fine. Legacy walk off as we get ready for another commercial break.

– Back from the break and Jerry Lawler is in the ring with the contract signing setup. Out first is the challenger for Hell in a Cell, Randy Orton. Orton makes his way to the ring and out next is the WWE Champion John Cena to a big pop.

Cena comes out and takes a seat at the table where Orton is already sitting. Lawler says there is a no physicality rule in effect for tonight. Lawler tells Orton he can give up his chance for the rematch and hands him the contract. Orton signs it for Hell in a Cell and tells Lawler to get out of the ring. Orton tells Cena he must think he has him at his weakest but he’s wrong. Orton stands up and says he is more dangerous than he’s ever been and is willing to do what it takes to get his title back. Orton reminds Cena he has never been in a Hell in a Cell match. Cena stands up now and tosses his hat into the crowd.

Cena shows video of Orton tapping out at Breaking Point and it’s put on repeat. Cena finally gets to the point, signs the contract and tells Orton if he loses the match he gets no more rematches. Orton says he found some people that have no problem in taking care of Cena. Out comes the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show and Chris Jericho.

They corner Cena. Show grabs the table and throws it to the floor. Cena sees this and attacks. Chris Jericho comes over and they beat Cena down. Mark Henry and MVP hit the ring to make the save. Cedric The Entertainer appears on the big screen and makes a six-man tag team main event for tonight with Cena, MVP and Henry vs. Orton, Show and Jericho. We go to commercial.

Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix

Back from the break and Lilian Garcia introduces the Divas Title #1 contender Alicia Fox, who is sitting at ringside. Out comes the WWE Divas Champion Mickie James. Out comes her opponent Beth Phoenix. Beth attacks first but Mickie counters some moves and kicks her out to the floor. Mickie goes to the top and jumps down to the floor on Beth.

Beth gets up and rams Mickie into the ringpost after a distraction from Alicia Fox. Beth brings Mickie in the ring and hits her facebuster for the pinfall and the win.

Winner: Beth Phoenix

– After the match, Alicia Fox enters the ring with the Divas Title. As Mickie is getting up, Alicia hits her with the scissors kick and lays the belt on top of her.

WWE United States Title Match: Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger

Back from the break and the WWE United States Champion Kofi Kingston makes his way to the ring. Out next is Jack Swagger. Swagger strikes first and they go back and forth. The Miz runs down and takes the US Title belt. Swagger stops him on the ramp and lays him out. Swagger picks up the belt and heads to the back with it as Miz lay on the ramp and Kofi gets to his feet in the ring.

– We get more hype for Cedric The Entertainer and his match with Chavo Guerrero before another commercial.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Cedric The Entertainer

Back from commercial and Chavo Guerrero makes his way out. Lilian introduces the special guest referee, Santino Marella and here he comes. Cedric comes out next dressed in mock tights, a top hat and a cape. Cedric enters the ring and puts on a luchador mask.

They mess around for a minute, not really doing anything at all. The crowd chants for Cedric. Chavo takes his hat off and stomps it. Cedric goes to the floor and crawls under the ring. Chavo walks to the other side of the ring thinking someone is going to come out there. A man dressed like Cedric was comes out from under the ring but he’s much bigger. Chavo slaps the person. He chases Chavo around the ring and press slams him back inside the ring. Chavo gets clotheslined and back dropped. The masked man splashes Chavo in the corner and lays him out, then crawls back under the ring. Hornswoggle comes out in the same outfit and hits the Tadpole Splash. Now the real Cedric comes from under the ring and pins Chavo for the pinfall and the win.

Winner: Cedric The Entertainer

– After the match, the masked Hornswoggle, masked Cedric and masked Cedric stand-in celebrate in the ring to some music. Wow. Back to commercial.

– Backstage, Cedric is flirting with Kelly Kelly when Chris Jericho walks up. He says they need to talk. Cedric says he needs a breath mint and turns back to Kelly. Big Show turns Cedric around this time and says they need to talk and Cedric says ok.

– Jerry Lawler is at ringside. He talks about Lilian Garcia’s last night with WWE tonight and thanks her for her time in WWE. Lilian is in the ring tearing up. Lilian talks about her experiences in WWE and puts everyone over. She’s crying now. She says her biggest honor has been to entertain the fans and have them support her. She says she’s going to miss everyone and her heart will always be in the WWE ring. Lilian thanks everyone again and we go to commercial.

Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Big Show vs. John Cena, MVP and Mark Henry

Back from the break and Jericho, Show and Orton are in the ring. Jericho takes the mic and says they told Cedric to up the ante for this match tonight. The stipulation is, if they lose the match tonight, next week on RAW Orton has to face MVP, Henry and Cena in a 3 on 1 Gauntlet Match. If they win tonight, Cena has to run a 3 on 1 Gauntlet Match next week against Orton, Show and Jericho. Out comes John Cena to a big pop and we go to commercial.

Back from the break and MVP & Mark Henry are now in the ring. Cena and Jericho start things off. They lock up and go to the corner. Jericho with right hands. Orton tags himself in. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjuster but Orton goes to the floor. Jericho attacks Cena from behind on the floor. In the ring, Orton works over Cena in the corner. They trade shots on their feet until Orton powerslams Cena and drops a big knee drop.

Show comes in with a headbutt and body shots. Jericho comes in and knocks Cena down with a forearm off the ropes. Another tag to Orton. Cena catches Orton with a belly to belly suplex. Jericho and MVP are tagged in. MVP tosses Jericho across the ring and clohtheslines him. MVP with a big flying clothesline and a knee to the jaw. MVP hits the Ballin’ elbow for a 2 count. Orton distracts the ref as Show lays out MVP. Show is tagged back in and he slams MVP and hits him with a headbutt. MVP fights back but Show clotheslines him.

Orton comes back in with kicks to MVP in the corner. Headlock by Orton. Jericho comes back in and kicks at MVP. Jericho chokes MVP on the ropes now. Jericho misses a move on the ropes and goes down. Orton is tagged in and he stops MVP from making the tag. Orton stomps away on MVP. MVP gets knocked into Henry and the tag is made. Henry comes in and hits Orton and Jericho. Show comes in the ring but Cena hits him with the Attitude Adjuster over the top. Orton hits the RKO on Henry for the pinfall and the win.

Winners: Randy Orton, Big Show and Chris Jericho

– RAW goes off the air tonight with the team of Big Show, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho taunting John Cena from the ramp as he will face them in a Gauntlet Match next week.
