The Monday, January 20, 2020 episode of WWE RAW is live this week from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

 


 

Featured below are complete results of tonight’s “Go-Home” show as we head into the WWE Royal Rumble 2020 pay-per-view this coming Sunday.

WWE RAW RESULTS (1/20/2020)

Opening

Monday Night Massiah Seth Rollins music sounds as he stands at the ramp on the stage of the Wichita, KS arena. They make their way down the ramp and enter the ring where Rollins picks up the mic. “Now wait a minute, I want you guys to know something. I want you to know that every single one of you out there have played a part in making me the man that I am today. Without you, there is no Monday Night Massiah. So from the bottom of my heart, I want to say, thank you.” The crowd is a mix of boos and clapping.

Rollins continues, “Thank you for believing in me, thank you for the support, the faith you have placed in me to lead WWE Raw, for that I am forever in your debt. There’s someone I need to thank specifically. Last week, this man opened his eyes, last week this man embraced his fate.” as Rollins puts his arm around as he points to the jumbotron showing last week’s RAW where the first Fist Fight took place and Rollins asked Buddy Murphy for help during the match. We re-enter the arena where Rollins welcomes the newest member of the Monday Night Messiah, Buddy Murphy. Rollins continues saying the future is inevitable before adding, “The battle lines are drawn, what kind of people do you want to be? Because either you’re with us, or you’re against us. And for those that stand in opposition to us, I…”

Rollins is interrupted by Kevin Owens music sounding over the speakers as Owens stands at the top of the ramp, Samoa Joe’s music sounds next as Samoa Joe stands next to Owens. Owens says he can understand them coming out to brag about taking out the Big Show, but they didn’t take out Owens and Samoa Joe. “I say, less talking, more fighting” as he drops the mic. Rollins responds, “Kevin, you wanna fight, we’ll fight. But not right now, we will find the proper time, and the proper place.” Samoa Joe interrupts saying he sees nothing more than an ass-hat in the ring as Rollins says, “If the two of you want to fight the four of us, there’s nothing more for me to say than come on down and dance with destiny.”

Samoa Joe responds, “We said we were ready for a fight, but we didn’t say we were the only ones. Come on out boys!” The RAW tag-team champions Erik and Ivar come running down the ramp with Samoa Joe and Owens. The Monday Night Messiah’s are attacked and exit the ring.

A recap from last week where Rey Mysterio was ready to retire as his son Dominick talked him out of it.

In-Ring

Rey Mysterio makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring as his music blares over the speakers in the Wichita, KS arena. We go to commercial. Updates to come momentarily…

Backstage

We are going to fix this. You seemed surprised. “Want a surprise? Here’s the scoop. We are challenging the tag-team champions for the title tonight! My new deciple Buddy Murphy, and me!” As they walk off down the hall backstage.

Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade

Rey Mysterio waits in the center of the ring as the music for Andrade sounds and he makes his way down the ramp with Zelina in-tow. Andrade enters the ring as the match is announced as a Ladder Match for the United States Championship. The match is officially announced as the bell rings and the match begins.

Mysterio exits the ring quickly seemingly going for the ladder to begin the match. Andrade is taken off guard as Mysterio hits Andrade with the ladder. Back in the ring, Mysterio on the top rope as Andrade tries to knock Mysterio to the ladder in the center of the ring. Mysterio climbs to the shoulders of Andrade and flips him off the top turnbuckle, Andrade’s body landing on the ladder below inside the ring. We go to commercial.

We come back from commercial where Andrade is thrown to the outside of the ring, Mysterio left in the ring with the ladder. Mysterio gets to the top rope and jumps from the top turnbuckle and lands on the upper body of Andrade, slamming him to the floor on the outside of the ring. Back in the ring, Mysterio once again getting his legs around the neck of Andrade, throwing him into the ladder leaning against the ring posts inside of the ring. Andrade falls to the mat, the ladder also falling and barely missing the head of Mysterio.

Mysterio back to his feet, sets the ladder up in the center of the ring under the championship belt. Mysterio begins climbing rung by rung, Andrade grabs the ankle of Mysterio and pulls him to the mat. Suplex by Andrade onto Mysterio. Finally flipping Mysterio spine first onto a ladder inside the ring. Mysterio with a right hand as he stands on the apron outside of the ropes. Andrade with a big right fist on Mysterio. Mysterio’s legs wrapped around the neck of Andrade, Andrade’s strength holding Mysterio in place as he lifts Mysterio and jumps off the second turnbuckle and Mysterio’s back connects with the ladder laying across the ropes and another ladder in the center of the ring. We go to commercial.

Back from commercial and the ladders inside the ring are making a “T” as theres one ladder opened in the center of the ring with two ladders on either side being held up by the ropes on either side of the ring posts. Mysterio climbing to the top, Andrade climbs up and stops Mysterio as his hand touches the belt. Andrade pulls Mysterio and they both fall to the ladder laying across the ring. Andrade’s back slamming into the ladder and onto the mat. Mysterio builds momentum as he’s kicking the ladders out of the ring, landing a 619 on Andrade. Mysterio climbs the rungs once again and as he grabs onto the belt, Andrade pulls the ladder away leaving Mysterio hanging from the belt.

Mysterio drops from the belt back into the ring, rolling away. More fighting ensues as Mysterio begins to climb the rungs once again, Zelina enters the ring and sits on the top of the ladder, Mysterio unable to get past her to the belt. Andrade makes his way up to Mysterio, a DDT off the ladder through the ladder remaining on the other side of the ring. The crowd begins to chant, “Holy Shit! Holy Shit!” as Selena looks on in shock. Andrade pulls himself out of the rubble and starts climbing rung by rung. Andrade reaches the belt and retains the United States Championship!

Winner: Andrade

After the Match

Zelina yelling at Andrade as she pulls the mat away from the floor on the outside of the ring. Andrade comes out, dragging Mysterio as a masked man is seen standing and ready behind him. Humberto Carrillo pulls the mask off his face and takes on Andrade, botching his attempt as the two begin to brawl. Andrade retreats up the ramp with Zelina as we go to commercial.

Announcer’s Table

We come back from commercial where the announcer’s say we stop to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a video package is played.

Aleister Black vs. Enhancement Talent

Bell rings and match begins. Talent runs at Black, Black stands and with a swift movement, Black Mass. Black pins for the win, looking on in anger.

Winner: Aleister Black

Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar In-Ring Promo

Paul Heyman walks behind Brock Lesnar as they make their way down the ramp and enter the ring. Last week’s RAW is shown where Lesnar shows R-Truth “what’s up”.

Paul Heyman begins speaking. Heyman talks about how Lesnar with be the first to enter the Royal Rumble and will be the last one standing. Lesnar has agreed that 29 other contenders will go over the top rope and both feet will hit the floor leaving only (in Heyman like dramatic stretch) “Brock Lesnar!” remaining.

Heyman then adds that then Lesnar will get to choose who he will go up against at Wrestlemania, and there’s only one person in the locker room worthy of going up against Lesnar. Before he reveals the name, Heyman asks the crowd who they think they are “booing” Brock Lesnar. “Do you think there is anyone worthy of stepping in the ring with Brock Lesnar? Name one, don’t worry, we’ll wait…” as the music sounds in the arena for Ricochet.

Ricochet comes out and stands at the top of the ramp with the microphone. He begins speaking to Heyman about how he comes out every week and talks a lot. The word “afraid” isn’t in Ricochet’s vocabulary.

Heyman says, “Obviously you got your education in Wichita.” as the crowd begins booing. Heyman says Ricochet will end up hurt by Lesnar. Ricochet continues, “Brock, I am not afraid to step into that ring with you” as he inches closer down the ramp. Finally climbing the stairs to the ring and climbing under the top rope, stepping in. “Now that I’m in the ring, I want you to know I am not afraid to challenge you to a fight, right now.”

Brock starts smiling and laughing as he tells Heyman, “Let’s go”. Ricochet continues, “Wait, wait, Brock, what’s the matter? Are you scared?” Lesnar stops on the apron and climbs back inside the ropes. Lesnar walks up to Ricochet and kicks him under the belt, picks up the mic and says, “Not scared” and walks away with his belt over his shoulder.

Backstage

Charly Caruso backstage with Randy Orton asking if he agrees Drew McIntyre is on par with Orton for winning the Royal Rumble. Orton says it’s hard to be on par with him when he has the three most dangerous letters on par with him, R-K…” and lets the crowd finish, “O!” as he walks away.

Randy Orton begins walking down the ramp as “In My Veins” begins to play over the speakers in the arena. We go to commercial.

Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre

As we come back from commercial, Randy Orton is waiting inside the ring as his opponent for tonight’s match up is announced over the loud speakers and Drew McIntyre’s music sounds as he walks down the ramp. McIntyre enters the ring and walks past Orton, the arena dark with blue lighting, McIntyre climbs to the second turnbuckle and howls. The bell rings and the match begins.

Early lock up between the two men, Orton pushed into the corner as the referee breaks them up. McIntyre smiles and they once again lock up. Orton throws McIntyre off the ropes, McIntyre returns with a shoulder shove. Orton exits the ring and walks around on the outside before re-entering the ring by the stairs. Back in the ring, McIntyre once again gets Orton in a Headlock.

The crowd begins chanting, “Randy! Randy!” as McIntyre is noticably frustrated. Both men step closer to one another, McIntyre picks Orton up and slams him into the corner. McIntyre with a big chop to the chest of Orton who looks shocked. Clothesline by Orton, followed by a second Clothesline by Orton over the top rope. McIntyre on the outside of the ring, Orton climbs out and slams McIntyre into the barricade.

The fight continues on the outside for a bit, Orton climbs back in the ring to stop the count. McIntyre is speared by Orton and an official on the outside of the ring is caught up in the Spear, looking to be unintentional. The man is bright red in color and McIntyre walks away as several WWE officials go running by to the aid of the man as we go to commercial.

We come back from commercial and McIntyre is standing at the top turnbuckle, seemingly having taken control of the match. Orton with a Dropkick on McIntyre as he flies off the turnbuckle. Orton with a few strong uppercuts. Both superstars begins slugging it out. McIntyre once again throwing massive Chops to the chest of McIntyre. Orton with an eye gouge. Orton with a DDT on McIntyre as he smiles and sticks his tongue out.

The crowd cheers for an RKO. Orton drops to the mat and begins, ready for the RKO, McIntyre counters and Orton falls to the mat. Over the head belly-to-belly toss by McIntyre, Orton kicks out at two. Suplex in the center of the ring by McIntyre. McIntyre looks to the crowd, they begin cheering. Three, Two, One… Orton counters with a Power Slam. McIntyre kicks out at two.

Orton goes to the top rope with McIntyre and lands a Superplex off the top. McIntyre trying to get to his feet. Carl Anderson, Luke and AJ Styles come running down the ramp to settle the score with McIntyre. Orton begins knocking each of them out with a chair, hitting each man of The OC. Orton still holding the chair looks to McIntyre who is standing on his feet. Orton drops the chair and goes face to face with McIntyre, then walks past him to the ropes. McIntyre nods as if to say, “alright…” Orton shrugs as he hits an RKO. Orton’s music plays as he exits the ring.

After the Match

I shouldve Claymore’d you. That’s why they call it the RKO out of nowhere. That one is not going to happen again. We are not even. This is what’s gonna happen this Sunday. The Claymore isn’t gonna come out of nowhere. I’m gonna kick your head off your shoulders, and finally Drew McIntyre is going to main event Wrestlemania.” McIntyre drops the mic. Orton still standing on the ramp looking down at the ring begins walking once again as his music starts back up.

Backstage

Charly Caruso asks Charlotte Flair about her confidence going into the Royal Rumble. Charlotte Flair says, “I’m always confident, but I’m also prepared. To face anyone, or anything.” Flair pauses as Becky Lynch stands next to her, then continues to walk by. Flair continues, “Last year I was eliminated by someone that wasn’t even supposed to be in the match, Becky Lynch. This year I’m ready to win, Wooo!”

“The Man” Becky Lynch makes her way down the ramp towards the ring as her music sounds over the speakers in the arena. We go to commercial.

Becky Lynch vs. Kairi Sane

“The Man” Becky Lynch makes her way down the ramp towards the ring as her music sounds over the speakers in the arena. We go to commercial.

As we come back from commerical, a clip is shown from the Royal Rumble contract signing with Asuka where Lynch took the green mist to the face. Back in the ring, Lynch says Asuka might be doubting herself, maybe she is. Maybe that’s the reason for the sneak attacks and why she’s facing Asuka’s tag team partner tonight. Lynch says Asuka might have won last year, but Lynch won in the end as she went on to make headlines and Asuka went on to YouTube to “make soup”.

The music sounds in the arena as The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane with Asuka) make their way down the ramp skipping and smiling. The bell rings and the match begins. Lynch wastes no time as she hits Sane to the floor and Lynch follows up with a Drop Kick through the ropes. Asuka stops Lynch ringside and Sane hits a Chop Block from behind. Sane and Lynch back and forth. Asuka hits Lynch in the back of the knee with her umbrella parasol.

Lynch is cheered on by fans as she builds momentum in this bout. Asuka taunting Lynch, both women begin trading blows. Lynch lands a massive Clothesline. Lynch takes Sane down as the fans roar in approval. Lynch distracted as Sane gains control of the match. Lynch lands a Rope Leg Drop, Sane kicks out at the two. Lynch attempts the Dis-Arm on Sane, Sane blocks. More back and forth action. Lynch and Sane move to the outside momentarily, Lynch brings Sane back into the ring. Sane hits the Bexploder followed up by a big kick to the face. Lynch connects the Dis-Arm for a submission win.

Winner: Becky Lynch

After the Match

Asuka hits the Shining Wizard on Lynch, followed by the Asuka Lock. The crowd boos. Lynch sits up, trying to recover as the crowd chants her name, we go to commercial.

Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy vs. The Viking Raiders

Seth Rollins makes his way out, AOP’s music sounds and they follow Rollins out. The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) make their way out next, followed by Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens as his music sounds last. They stand shoulder to shoulder at the bottom of the ramp as The Viking Raiders run and slide into the ring. The RAW tag-team championship match is officially announced. The bell rings and the match begins. Rollins and Erik start the match off. Rollins tags in Murphy immediately, they smile and hug. A Jumping Knee by Erik. A brawl breaks out both inside and outside of the ring as we go to commercial.

Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, AOP, all ejected as we come back from commercial. Murphy and Rollins pull Ivar off the apron. Murphy and Erik inside the ring, Erik hits the mat as Murphy tags in Rollins. Rollins pin attempt on Erik who kicks out at two. Murphy with a kick attempt, misses. Murphy seemingly knocked out as Ivar is tagged in by Erik. Murphy gets the tag to Rollins. Splash by Ivar as the crowd cheers. Ivar with a cartwheel and a Clothesline, Ivar very fired up as he tags in Erik. Rollins saves Murphy. Both Rollins and Murphy on the floor on the outside of the ring.

Erik and Ivar fly over the ropes onto Rollins and Murphy. Viking Experience in the center of the ring! Rollins breaks the pin attempt. Ivar with a Big Kick. Murphy sitting on the top turnbuckle as Ivar climbs up to the top, Murphy trying to fight free. Rollins gets the tag. Murphy and Rollins lift Ivar and plant him center of the ring. Rollins with two count, Ivar kicks out. Back and forth between the legal men in. Ivar receives a Double Leg Drop.

Erik sees Ivar fall off the turnbuckle to the outside as Rollins pushes him. Rollins cheats once again as he runs to the side of the ring as he slams Erik’s neck off the bottom rope. Murphy pulls Erik to the center of the ring for the three count pin.

Winner: Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy

Backstage

Rollins celebrating with Buddy Murphy backstage is asked what this title means to him. Rollins says this is just the beginning as this Sunday they are going to submit their dominance as Rollins wins the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row.

“Monday After the Weekend Update” airs. A faux news report Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford giving “updates”. The parody news articles are read in a Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” form. They say Party of Five, Lizzie McGuire, and Gilmore Girls are being rebooted, on Take Your Corner they say they are tired of the reboots!

Six days away from the pay-per-view Royal Rumble, they welcome R-Truth as the Royal Rumble Correspondent. Truth babbling from the Minute Maid Park in Houston. When asked how it felt to be hit by Brock Lesnar, he says it “Hut’z. H-U-T- apostrophe Z.” A slow motion video is shown of Otis dancing and doing the worm, saying that’s what’s coming up after The Office.

We go to commercial.

Matt Hardy vs. Erick Rowan

Matt Hardy makes his way to the ring as his music sounds in the arena. Out next is Erick Rowan carrying the same mystery sack, setting it on the stairs outside of the ring. The bell rings and the match begins. Hardy with a few forearms to the back of Rowan. Hardy attempts a DDT, to no avail. Rowan with a Frog Splash onto Hardy. The crowd with mixed emotion.

The match makes its way to the outside of the ring. Rowan asks Hardy, “Do you want to see something?” Rowan goes for his bag sitting on the stairs, as he reaches in, once again he is bit by something and he pulls his hand back, bleeding once again. Hardy hits Rowan from behind, the fight makes it’s way back to the inside of the ring. Rowan with an Iron Claw Slam to the mat, followed by the three count pin.

Winner: Erick Rowan

Announcer’s Table

Lawler speaks on Rusev and Liv Morgan vs. Bobby Lashley and Lana match that’s coming up next, then a recap is shown with clips from the wedding, to the matches that followed.

Backstage

Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe speak to Sarah backstage about Rollins and Murphy being in the Royal Rumble is something they now have in common. Owens declares he will be a member of the Royal Rumble. Samoa Joe says he declares he will also be in the Royal Rumble, adding it’s every man for himself and if it comes to the chance at the championship, he will, “go right through” Owens.

Charly Caruso speaks to Mojo Rawley about capitalizing on the 24-7 Championship. “For too long, this title has been carried by cowards…” interrupted by the Singh Brothers pretending to be filming for their movie, then trying to sneak attack between Mojo’s legs. Mojo slams both of the Singh Brothers as he walks away untouched.

Bobby Lashley & Lana vs. Rusev and Liv Morgan

Out first is Bobby Lashley and Lana “Rusev Day is canceled. All my Bobby and I ever wanted was…” the crowd chants, “Rusev Day! Rusev Day!” as Lana responds, “Shut Up!! I mean seriously. I can’t even stand it. We are trying to show our love, that is inspiring to the world and none of you care. It’s not our fault you are low rent bottom feeder pathetic losers, all of you. You see, we have finally accepted the fact that you are jealous.” The crowd boos. Lana continues on, saying all they want is a simple “thank you” and asks the crowd to chant it with her. Then Lana says Bobby is gonna prove his dominance to her ex-husband and she will take on Liv Morgan.

As we come back from commercial, Bobby Lashley and Lana are seen standing in the center of the ring, Lashley hyping up for the match. Rusev’s music sounds in the arena as he and Liv Morgan make their way down the ramp and enter the ring. The bell rings and Liv chases Lana immediately. Lana yells, “That’s right, I’m the best wrestler in the world” as Liv Clotheslines Lana, followed by a Drop Kick. Lana with a big kick and pin attempt, Liv kicks out.

Suplex by Lana and another hook of the leg, kick out. Double Clothesline by both women, they get the tag and Lashley and Rusev face off in the center of the ring. Rusev is interrupted by Lana, and Rusev slides to the left just in time for Lashley to almost Clothesline Lana. Liv throws Lana to the outside of the ring, Lashley checks on Lana as Liv gets a massive kick on Lashley, followed by Rusev doing the same. Lana once again grabs Rusev’s leg to stop him as Lashley hits a Spear on Rusev, followed by the three count.

Winner: Bobby Lashley and Lana
